My surgeons office called today and I finally got my date! It is July 24th!!!! I go in for my pre-admission testing on July 10th. I'm starting to get very anxious now. It seems like there is so much to schedule now that I have my date!!! HOORAY!
The surgeon was supposed to review my chart yesterday to make sure everything was in order and I could schedule my surgery date. I didn't hear from them yesterday so I called them this afternoon. Still...he has not reviewed it and the person doing the scheduling said she would try to call me Monday to schedule. I am going CRAZY!!!!! I don't think I will get in for surgery until August but that is better than never...or so I keep telling myself that.

I got my verbal approval today from the insurance company!!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited I can't stand it. My family doesn't know I'm doing this so I can't share it with them but I did tell a few of my friends that know.
Unlike many people on this site I have not always been overweight. I was very physically fit most of my life and one day it all seemed to disappear. Now, of course, I know that isn't true but that's how it seems. Over the last 15 years I have put on weight slowly but surely, much to my demise! I have been about the same weight now for 4 years because quite frankly I don't see how I could get any bigger (I know it is possible)! I am very active even now that I am fat but there are a lot of things I wish I could do better or again. My big goal is to be able to go out running and no one will take a second look at me and say "What is that fat girl doing trying to run". I love to run outside just listening to music but now all I do is walk and I'm still very self concious about doing that. I am very busy, work all the time and take care of my grandma but I love it! I am just looking forward to living a much healthier lifestyle!!
I have been wanting WLS for about 4 years now. I went, with my friend, for a consulation at that time and found out my insurance wouldn't cover it so there was no going forward at that time. My friend's insurance (carried by her husband) did cover the surgery so she proceeded. Everything went very fast for her and she had the surgery 4 months after our initial consulation. She is doing well now and looks great! I however have stayed the same weight over the last 4 years. I decided about a year ago to go to work for the same company as my friend's husband so I too could get the insurance and be covered. I started on my way again in October 2007. I had UH and was approved in the beginning of December 2007 however my company decided to change insurance carriers and I had to start my process all over again in January 2008 with Aetna. It has been a long road and I hope it will all be worth it!!!
