Surgeon TestimonialHilario Juarez M.D.I couldn't have chosen a better surgeon, staff, and weight loss surgery center.
Dr. Juarez is a soft spoken, intelligent, knowledgable, funny man. I first met him at my seminar in January and he was a laid back funny man who was very knowledgable about weight loss surgery. You can trust him with everythign when you go on that surgery table. He always greets you with a smile and an understanding. He comes to see you after surgery and you feel safe, and feel you are in good hands.
This was just the surgeon. You also meet the peopel that will be in the surgery room with you. WOW these are some amazing INTELLIGENT people. They will exceed your expectations. You will feel very safe and under good care.
The other staff, the dieticians, the billing people, the people that work with your weight loss surgery plan and do the meetings, classes. ARE WONDERFUL! so full of wisdom and care. The Bridges Centre is an all around good program. It is a team that was put together perfectly, and I was so lucky to be able to have my surgery through them. IM SO HAPPY!, and I hope this helps the many peopel that are searching for someone to give them their new life! All the best to everyone.

I am 22 years old and have reached my highest weight ever of 365 pounds. I am astounded at how heavy I have become. I have many many co-morbities. I have polycystic ovary syndrome, skin discoloration, Fibromyalgia, asthma, snoring, acid reflux, swelling of my ankles, joint pain everywhere, there are so many to list. I have tried and tried my whole life to lose weight, but always was overweight no matter how much I exercised and how little I ate. At around the age of 8 I remember my weight yo yoing and then around 12 starting to get bigger and bigger each year. I hope that this surgery can help save my life...because life is so hard right now being this heavy. I can barely do anything...even though I have denied so long that I am not that big. I can see the Erin in me that is healthy and active..just waiting to be let free. I am ready to change my whole life.
*UPDATE!* AFTER 5 YEARS OF PREPARING FOR SURGERY(FIRST MY INSURANCE STOPPED PAYING, AND THEN I WAS TRYING TRYING ANOTHER INSURANCE...THEN FINALLY JUST DID SELF PAY) I FINALLY! RECEIVED MY SURGERY ON MAY 22ND 2007. I NO LONGER HAVE SLEEP APNEA, MY SKIN DISCOLORATION IS GONE, MY BUFFALO HUMP IS GONE, I HAVE NO WATER RENTENTION AND SWELLING!! NO MORE ACID REFLUX!! I CAN WALK ANYWHERE AND SLEEP VERY WELL!!! I HAVE LOST MY FIRST 100 POUNDS AND ON MY WAY TO MY NEXT 100!!!!***
270 POUNDS ALMOST 100 POUNDS DOWN! on November 14, 2007 12:45 pm
Well, I have been trying to correct myself on some things that have been sabotaging my weight loss progress. I am having far to much sugar...for awhile I was eating TootsieRoll Lollipops, and having my QT cappucino iced coffee drink. I think for a while to I was having way to much to eat. Definately not following all the rules. Nor was I exercising religiously. I definately noticed that my weight was just staying at a constant 278. Well, I started working out and my weight started going down and down. NOW! I need to really buckle down on what I'm eating and start going to my support groups again. I tell people that I am not someone they should follow for what to do after surgery. I have had many times I have messed up, and this is definately a roller coaster of learning.
WISH ME LUCK I PLAN TO GET THERE AND DO VERY WELL!!!!! NOTHING IS STOPPING ME EXCEPT MYSELF AND I PLAN TO STOP THAT!

290! on September 10, 2007 10:31 am
290 POUNDS NOW!! I am still learning. I dont think I'm doing as well as I could, but I definately have goals to learn each day and learn how to be successful with taking care of myself properly after Gastric Bypass.
I will admit it...somedays I dont exercise. Somedays I probably have to much sugar. I dont think I eat fruits and vegetables like I should. I am tryign to get my life more organized. One thing that needs to be done is cleaning my home. Two, set aside more money to actually be able to afford to cook good meals for myself. Three, my boyfriend is wonderful..it is my first serious mature relationship ion my life(with a guy I actually REALLY like and am attracted to) , BUT! I NEED TO not just spend so much time with him, that I forget to take care of myself.
I see many peopel on here that seem like they have it all together. They seem, in my eyes....to do everything right after Gastric. I knew Gastric Bypass would be more of a struggle with me, because before Gastric I had problems taking care of myself as it was. I tend to get overwhelmed, and cant handle much. I really do want to do better.
ALSO the last time I was 290, I think I was about 20 yrs old or possibly 19:-) My next goal is 270 the weight I was when I was 17:-)))
