Surgeon Testimonial

Pamela Foster, M.D.
Upon my first meeting with Dr. Foster in Oct., 2011, I knew she was the right doctor for me! She's smart as a whip, compassionate, no nonsense and kind. she sugar coats nothing, explains things to a "T" and I have complete trust in her. bypass surgery is scheduled for April 16th, 2012, and I went last wk. for all my pre op admission, meetings/ and final check up. She was firm about me loosing 30 lbs before my surgery....i was afraid I wouldn't be able to do it...but I did! ( I lost 66 as of last wk)...I'm feeling better, she was extremely pleased...and that will just help along the process even more...she "lit the fire" and got me motivated! Thank you DR FOSTER!!!! You are good for me!!!!

I'm feeling well, sleeping better and getting around much easier! Started my journey in October 2011 with a consult with Dr. Pamela Foster in Burlingame. I weighed an astounding 375 pounds. She told me to lose 30+ pounds before surgery, (which seemed like it took my insurance forever to approve, but they did...thanks to the persistance of Yvette the surgery coordinator!). I ended up getting down to 308 by my RNY surgery on April 16th!

I weighed myself yesterday and I'm at 245...still heavy, but comparatively...I feel slim :o)
I need to learn patience, as I want everything "yesterday", LOL!
I still am on a bland diet of 1 protein shake a day, then something like 1 serving of Egg Beater's with a tsp of MILD salsa for lunc or dinner or tuna or cottege cheese and a thin shaved slice of turkey lunch meat...I also like the Unjury chicken protein broth and steamed flunder is amazing and full of protein! Tastey!
My next appt. with Dr. Foster is at the end of July...at pre-op the nutritionist told me of Trader Joe's frozen turkey meatballs. That sounds sooooo good, but don't know if it's ok to start that in my diet yet???? Part of me is a little nervous to begin the meats...know tough  meats/steaks, etc. a big no no because of digestion issues.   A chicken thigh sounds good to me about right now! I'm eating about 200-300 calories a day as of now...I know eventually you get up to 800-1000 calories a day. Seems like so much to eat! (who wudda thought, lol!)
