Surgeon Testimonial

Thomas H. Magnuson
The first time that I met Dr.Magnuson was nerve racking to say the least. I felt like I was going to have a panic attack on my way there. Sitting in the waiting room, I felt like I was going to throw up! His office coordinator Ms.Valorie was wonderful. She saw I was nervous and assured me that it will be fine. He's a really nice doctor. She was right. He immediately put me at ease when he walked in. His personality is awesome!! He is so down to earth, explains the proceedure, waits to answer your questions. He makes sure that you understand and if at the time you can't think straight (like me),he gives you his contact info. so you can ask him later on if you need to.

This Is Amazing!!!
on February 17, 2011 8:53 am

It's been awhile since I've been on here. I have been up and down since the surgery and just haven't really been interested in blogging. Well to update...... I had my surgery and it went pretty well. I will say there are definitely some things that they can't warn you about. I was in the hospital 3 days and when I left I was really swollen from the fluid that they pumped in me from IV's. I weighted more than then the day I went in! So I put my begining weight at 355lbs. As of today my weight is 281.4lbs. So almost 280lbs.  That is soo unreal to me. I know what I was told about this process but to actually see these results, it's jaw dropping! I'm able to walk through a store now and not have my legs and feet feel like they are going to give out. I do have alittle problem with fluid. But over all, I am satisfied with how the weight loss is going. The sanging skin is really showing, so at my doctors visit yesturday I asked her about plastic surgery and she told me that after I loose all the weight we will be putting the wheels in motion for getting it removed. Thank God!  So that's pretty much where I'm at. I will try to keep updating.

On My Way
on September 23, 2010 4:02 am

Everything is done! All my test (stress test), (blood test), (physical),(EKG) etc. I'm so tired of getting poked and prodded. I guess if you've had this done, you know what I'm talking about. My surgery is this Monday coming. I'm excited, nervous, scared (only because I keep thinking something may happen that will stop me from having the surgery), and anxious. This is like a dream come true for me. I was telling a good friend of mine yesterday what this means to me as a over weight person. She was shocked when I explained to her some of the things that I have experienced living as a over weight person. I just pray that within a year or maybe less, I will experience how it feels to be a smaller size person. I can truly say that I don't remember ever being small. I do have pictures of myself at the age of maybe 6 and I was skinny. I am now 33 so that gives you an idea of how long it's been. Well wish me luck, keep me in prayer, and I will report the outcome.

Blessings to all

PCP Visit
on August 5, 2010 9:05 am
I recieved the call this morning from my PCP to set the date for the physical, bllod work up, and EKG to be done before the surgery. It will be on Sept.8th. Everything is coming together and I'm getting more nervous. Wow... I never thought I'd get this way after knowing the actual date. I'll keep you all posted.

Why am I sooo Paranoid??!!
on August 3, 2010 4:30 pm

A very good friend of mine had her surgery about 6 to 7 years ago. I had mentioned to her that I have been fine with all of the steps I have had to endure to get to where I am @ today. But all of a sudden now, I have become soo paranoid!!! I am soo scared that something is going to happen where the doctor or his office assistant will tell me for some crazy reason I can't have the surgery
