Awesom doctor! Ive felt confident from the first seminar! Although I am a little over two weeks away from surgery, I have been very pleased so far.

gallbladder
on April 20, 2011 8:22 am

I had my gallbladder taken out yesterday. I dont know how some people say it was a very painless surgery, because I think I am in more pain with this one than I was with my RNY! Not to mention it was my first time passing out when they were putting my IV in. But now that its out, I hope to feel much better and no more gallbladder attacks in the middle of the night. That was scary!

Wow I just realized that it has been quite a while since I have posted anything on here. I am 9 months post op now, and I have lost 119lbs. I survived all the Christmas candies, which I am proud of myself for that one! Haha! I have since started back to school, which interfered with my excercise time alot. So next semester I am cutting down on some of the class loads and I am trying to find a balance all together. Which is hard beings that I am a single mom, I work full time, and also go to college. Ce la vie....

I still think having the Gastric Bypass surgery was the best decision I have ever made! I am so thankful to have lost almost 120lb in 2010. Now in 2011 I hope to lose the 45 to reach my goal! That would be amazing!

thought I might post a little update for everyone. I am down 84 lbs, and doing great! I feel so much better about myself and life. I take full advantage to get out there and enjoy life. I still have my ups and downs days. At the moment I am at a little plateu. We just went on vacation, and it was so hard to find the foods that I am suppose to be eating. I ate alot of salads, but they still made me a little sick. I got through it though, and now since I am home and back to my regular routine, I am getting back on track. The rain here is not helping my excercise routine though! Hopefully it will subside...

Well everyone stay blessed!

struggles

I have had quite the struggle the past few weeks. I have hit a plateu, and it is very discouraging! I am killing myself working out, and even doing extra intense workouts, and I still have not lost anything! It sucks! Many people have told me that it is normal to hit a plateu, but it is still discouraging. My biggest fear is to stop losing weight, and it feels like its comming true!

As far as healing up from surgery and everything I have been doing great, what sucks is I have had a really bad sore throat and developed a UTI. The dr put me on an antibiotic. But I have been soooo thirsty and I am so used to drinking 7 up to help with a sore throat, something about those bubbles that calm it and I have been wanting to drink drink drink! The only problem is I am only suppose to be drinking 1 oz every 15 minutes. That is not filling me up at all! I dont really understand why I am limited to only that, but its what the dr says....

I can only take childrens motrin to relieve the sore throat which sucks even more cause it dont help worth a lick! I just want to get better so I can be happy about my weight loss.

okay so enough venting...just had to let some frustration out!

peace

My Story

I have been overweight since puberty. I started out being a normal weighted child, but that started to change once I hit 13. The weight just kept comming and comming. Then in my later teen years, it came a little more. I had my first child when I was 18, and then the second came along 3 years later. I packed on 50 more lbs with the pregnancies. So I am morbid obese, with that soon to change! I would really like to hear from people that are going through or have been through the same thing! I just feel so amazingly blessed that I am now OFFICIALLY approved for surgery! Cant wait to hear from everyone! God Bless!
