Alex Argotte, M.D. So far he's been wonderful. But I've only met with him once...his assistant Cleo has seen me other times. She's great!!! A very upbeat young lady that could blow away on a windy day she's so tiny. (can't wait to feel and look thin!!!)

We're going to Disney World in May so I thought I would start buying some new shorts early. I bought size 16 denim shorts from JC Penney and they FIT LOOSELY!!!!!!! I was so thrilled. And my opinion of JC Penney is their clothes run small. So I will be ordering 14's next. New goal...size 12 by my July birthday. I'll turn 46 on July 29th. That would be so cool to be back in a 12.
WEEEEEEEEE!!!!!! I went on a 2 week vacation and lost 5 lbs.....when have I ever done that? Under 200 is so close now. I didn't meet my goal to be under by year end but I'm still happy with he results.....who wouldn't be. Total lost 112 from highest weight in April 2007.
I have really slowed down on my losing and its making me mad. I'm at 228 as of this morning. Mostly my fault for lack of exercise.
Besides that bad news....my Cocker Spaniel had 8 puppies and they're now 3 weeks old. They're so cute!!! Hopefully I can sell them all before Christmas. It's quite a job for my Chloe....her last litter was just 4 pups. She works hard taking care of them.
No other news.......same old thing.....diet diet diet!!!
Things were going fairly well for me until last week. I went for my 1 month check-up with Cleo (PA) and the dietician. I was given the ok for the next phase of foods to eat. I tried several things she suggested to help get the protein. NOTHING stayed down. I was throwing up just about anything I ate. By Friday I was very concerned. I called the office and they wanted me to come in. Cleo put me back on full liquid diet again. I told her I felt like any food I ate just sits there and doesn't go in my stomach. She told me it sounded like my opening to my stomach was closing. I asked her if this is common and she said about 10% of their patients have this happen. After leaving there I started throwing up from drinking also. It was awful. I called Cleo and she wanted me to go to the hospital to be admitted. I was admitted at 5pm Friday for dehydration. Back on an IV to get some fluid in me. They also checked my blood and my potassium was dangerously low. They put potassium through the IV also. On Saturday morning Dr Argotte had to take me back in surgery to strntch the opening to my stomach. Afterwards...he told me that the entrance to my stomach was closed completely. I stayed in the hosp until Monday night. When I left I felt great. I was able to eat and drink like normal and didn't get sick. The doctor said I will need this done 2-3 more times to get the opening to stay open. So I go again tomorrow for the same procedure but as an out-patient this time. UGH!!!
I did get the run down of my weight since my first visit to Dr. Argotte.

Thats 69 pounds gone forever!!!!! I have probably dropped a few more pounds since then. I hope I'm under 200 by Christmas.
I am at least getting close to losing a 100 pounds. I feel so much better already. This surgery has done wonders for me.
After being a member and reading about so many people over the past few years, I'm finally taking the time to input all of my info. I hope to find this site as a method of support as I continue this journey.
I'm 45 yrs young as of July 29 2007. I'm married to a wonderful man. He retired from his job in Feb. and retired from the military (reserves) 2 weeks ago. So we are both stay at home parents now to our 5 adopted children. These 6 people are the strength and motivation to my steps toward WLS. I want so badly to be a more active part of the childrens lives and be a role model in the area of fitness to them. "WHICH I AM NOT" yet.
I didn't really have a weight problem until I was 29. I slowly crept from 140.....to 180. I stayed there for 2 years and then boom...up over 200 and kept climbing. I was diagnosed with PCOS around that time which I think started most of this. 3 years later Hypothyroid. Then diabetes. And high blood pressure. Then high Cholesterol. Then Sleep Apnea......and I currently sleep in a recliner with a CPAP. Yes I am miserable. I so badly want to get to bed...lol. I have had back surgery back in the 90's and since gaining this weight it's made it too unbearable to lay down. I know this surgery will make all or at least most of these things go away.
Thats my story and I'm sticking to it. God Bless all of you!!
