I'm supposed to be on the liver shrinking diet. I cheated a few times. The main reason is I've been on it since April. They put you on it one month prior to surgery. 1200 cal. 2000 sodium, 30 fat, 167 carbs, 60 protein. Tough diet. I did really good for the first month. I lost 28 lbs. A lot of water I'm sure. That really made a difference in how I felt. The doctors office was supposed to have submitted my paperwork to insurance for approval at that time. After a month and no response I called my BCBS insurance and they said they didn't receive it. I asked the doctors office to resubmit it. After several weeks and still no approval letter I called BCBS again. They again said they didn't get it. They gave a fax number and said to have the doctor office send it there. I was approved in one week. So during all of the time waiting...I've had a vacation and a birthday...both a huge way to cheat for me. I don't think I gained any of my 28 lbs back but I feel guilty that I cheated and have not lost more. So I'm trying to be very strict until I see the surgeon 1 week pre-op. I bought a work out bike and put in in my sunroom. I ride 3-5 miles 2-3 times per week. I need to increase that and do it daily. This Fall when it's cool I would love to get outside and start a daily walking routine. I hope I get motivated and show good results after going through all of this. I've read a few cases where the person did not get the results they expected and were really depressed as a result. I think I have the determination to succeed. Wish me luck!!! I need some online friends to talk to. Here's my email if anyone wants to chat. suetiki@yahoo.com
