Surgeon Testimonial

Alex Argotte, M.D.
So far he's been wonderful. But I've only met with him once...his assistant Cleo has seen me other times. She's great!!! A very upbeat young lady that could blow away on a windy day she's so tiny. (can't wait to feel and look thin!!!)

Congrats on your surgery!! I hope you've had an easy time. You did so great pre-op, I'm sure your hanging just as tough now. I'm looking forward to hearing from you soon! You're in my thoughts and prayers. Loralea

Tuesday is your day! Just remember you are on the journey of a lifetime. Try to enjoy every minute. It may sound weird now, but know that you are cared for and prayed for here, and all too soon this will be but a memory and you will be an inspiration to someone else. I am waiting for you on the losers' bench!

Here's whats happening with me...

Things were going fairly well for me until last week.  I went for my 1 month check-up with Cleo (PA) and the dietician.  I was given the ok for the next phase of foods to eat.  I tried several things she suggested to help get the protein.  NOTHING stayed down.  I was throwing up just about anything I ate.  By Friday I was very concerned.  I called the office and they wanted me to come in.  Cleo put me back on full liquid diet again. I told her I felt like any food I ate just sits there and doesn't go in my stomach.  She told me it sounded like my opening to my stomach was closing.  I asked her if this is common and she said about 10% of their patients have this happen.  After leaving there I started throwing up from drinking also.  It was awful.  I called Cleo and she wanted me to go to the hospital to be admitted.  I was admitted at 5pm Friday for dehydration.  Back on an IV to get some fluid in me.  They also checked my blood and my potassium was dangerously low.  They put potassium through the IV also.  On Saturday morning Dr Argotte had to take me back in surgery to strntch the opening to my stomach.  Afterwards...he told me that the entrance to my stomach was closed completely.  I stayed in the hosp until Monday night.  When I left I felt great.  I was able to eat and drink like normal and didn't get sick.  The doctor said I will need this done 2-3 more times to get the opening to stay open.  So I go again tomorrow for the same procedure but as an out-patient this time.  UGH!!!

I did get the run down of my weight since my first visit to Dr. Argotte.

Thats 69 pounds gone forever!!!!!  I have probably dropped a few more pounds since then.  I hope I'm under 200 by Christmas.

I am at least getting close to losing a 100 pounds.  I feel so much better already.  This surgery has done wonders for me.
