I Want To Cry...

I'm totally pissed!!!! I was to contact Neweigh by Wed. for followup on my insurance status. Called today and was told that my insurance does not cover WLS, and there's nothing they (Neweigh) could do. No appeals or anything? Nothing!!!!

I've gone to their seminar and was told that they would push appeal after appeal if it wasn't approved but when I spoke with them on today, I was told there's nothing they could do. I feel like crawling under a rock and never coming out. I don't know what I'm going to do....I don't have the money to pay for it. Maybe this isn't for me?

call your insurance company and appeal with THEM. Don't depend on the doctor's office to fight this thing or push for you. If you want it; you have to go get it.

I've heard that even if your insurance co. doesn't cover it; you can appeal it because it's medical necessity...how can they not cover something that can save your life if the doc says it's needed? Like telling a heart patient that they don't cover open heart surgery....

TAKE OFF YOUR GLOVES AND start swinging those fists until you get a YES!!!! I assume Neweigh is just the surgeon's office that will perform the surgery and not the actual insurance. Start with the insurance co...ask what the appeals process is and take that route.

Who is your insurance co? Is it them who doesn't cover it, or your employer? That's what you need to find out. I wish you all the best!
