Peter N. Benotti M.D.
Dr Peter Benott in Danville PA at Geisingers Medical Center is a very strict Surgeon.. He is very tough.. One of the best Weight Loss surgeons around. His personality is not the best tho.. I am having surgery on 2/6 ane he has cancelled my lst surgery for 12/4 due to some health problems-especially anemia.. ABd he stil wants more infro from my prime doc about my health before he operates--but he did this time let me go to the pre-admissions education and testing--they took 9 tubes of blood out of me.. I have been thru the reemer with test after tests and blood work after blood work for the past yr.. I have diabetes and i am subjuset to cellulitis..rn iF I HAD TO CHOSE ANOTHER SURGEON I WOULD HAVE PICKED DR STRODEL--HE IS MORE POPULAR--BUT I CHOSE DR BENOTTI BECASUE HE IS HEAD OF SURGERY IN DANVIEE AND HE IS SUPPOSED TO HANDLE MOST OF THE HIGH RISK PATIENTS I WAS TOLD BY ANOTHER GEISINGER DOTOR--NOW I AM BEGINNING TO WONDER--HE IS JUST TOO FUSSY & I PRAY THAT ALL GOES WELL--,MY PRIME DOC IS DISCUSTED WITH HIM SAYING HE WANTS MORE RECORDS AND SHE SENDS THEM TO HIM AND HE SAYS THAT HE DOES NOT RECEIVE THEM..rn I WILL LET YOU KNOW WHAT I REALLY THINK OF HIM OVERALL AFTER MY SURGERY.. HE DID YELL AT ME ON MY FIRST VISIT AND I DID NOT APPRECIATE THAT! I THINK SURGICAL CONFIDENCE AND A GOOD BEDSIDE MANNER IS EXTREMEMLY IMPOORTANT..rn WELL IT HAS BEEN JUST 1 DAY PAST MY 2 WEEKS SINCE SURGERY-- I HAD A ROUGH TIME OF IT--BUT DR BENOTTI WAS EXCELLENT--I AM GLAD NOW THAT HE IS MY SURGEON--I GOT POISON IN MY BLOOD AND PNEUMONIA IN MY LEFT LUNG AND HE HANDLED EVERYTHING VERY EXCELLENTLY AND HE SHOWED A TENDER SIOE OF HIMSELF AS HE WAS REALLY WORRIED ABOUT ME AND I THANK MY GOD FOR HIM AND I MOSTLY THANK GOD FOR GETTING ME THRU THE HARD TIMES..rn I RECOMMEND DR BENOTTI TO ANYONE AND NOW I AM GLAD THAT HE WAS SUCH A STICKLER BEFORE MY SURGERY AND I UNDERSTAND WHY HE WANTED EVERYTHING TO BE AS WELL WITH ME AS IT COULD BE BEFORE THIS SURGERY--OTHERWISE I MIGHT HAVE DIED--HE IS A PERFECTIONIST AND THAT CAN BE A GOOD QUALITY!

4/3/2007(Tues) - Today is my 2 month anniversary since my surgery--exactly 8 weeks ago from today I had my open RNY.. It is hard to believe that 2 months have passed by..
Today i also went for my mammogram--I am sure everything is fine as usual --but you still have to wait for that letter to tell you anyway..
I go to see the GI Nutrition Doctor on 4/17/07 2 weeks from today--I pray that i have lost alot of weight--so far I am not sure how much i have lost since the surgery-this fluid retention is still fighting against me and i get frustrated sometimes--and i cannot exercise much--because of the neuropathy and i keep praying that the neuropathy will get better and i am not sure if it is or not--but the like 91 lbs i lost so far has helped me alot--last time i went for my mammogram i can hardly stand--today i did so much better than 1 1/2 yrs ago--i was abe to stand without alot of effort and the woman who did the test let me sit down in my wheel chaird in between pictures so that helped..
I am getting better with food and i am moving into the stage where i will be able to have alot of things now--Not sure how much calories i am supposed to be eating from now on--the binder only tells me to follow the food Pyramid in planning meals.. So I need to ask that question when i go to Danville..
But i am not eating a whole lot yet and chicken is still hard for me to get down--but i keep on trying..
