It's official!  I am down 101 pounds from my heaviest weight.  I weighed 149 pounds this morning!  I am still in shock.  I haven't been at this weight since I graduated from high school (24 years ago!)  I could never in my wildest dreams have imagined this.  I am so happy that I went ahead with the surgery.  My bloodwork is now perfect (my doc says it is better than hers!) and I am no longer diabetic.  My cholesterol is perfect, my blood pressure is perfect and my reflux is gone.  I only take vitamins and the lexapro which I started after the surgery induced estrogen dump.  That will be discontinued soon.  Life is still life, but I feel comfortable in my skin for the first time in ages!  Woohoo!!

Well, I am absolutely amazed.  I wanted to be in the 170's by the time I go to the beach at the end of July.  I made that goal and have passed it by about two months.  Now I have set a new goal of 145 by beach time.  I would never have believed it possible!! 

Well, I am almost six months out now and am down about 87 pounds from my heaviest.  I only need to lose about 12 more pounds to be where my surgeon wants me and my personal goal is only 25 pounds away.  My surgeon said I would make it by nine months.  I now weigh 162 pounds and I was just hoping to be at 175 before my family vacation in August.  My mother always has us take a family picture, and finally, I won't be the fattest Rosazza on the beach!  What a change six months can make.  This has been the best thing I have ever done for myself.  What a blessing!

I can't believe it has only been a little over a month, and I feel like a new person!!  I am about 35 pounds down from my heaviest and I feel great!  This is the best thing I have ever done for myself.  I hope to lose lots more weight, but I am satisfied to feel as good as I do right now.  If I never lost another pound, it would all be worth it.  

This is my first post!  I am having my surgery tomorrow.  I report to the hospital at 7:30.  I am very nervous, but committed to doing this.  My health will just not suffer another 10 years of this.  I am ready for a new journey, one that includes taking care of myself, in addition to everyone else.  I am ready to be the person I was supposed to be before I got really messed up.  So off I go...See you on the loser's bench!
