Surgeon Testimonial

Alfredo Fernandez, M.D.
Dr Fernandez is an Angel in plain clothes. He makes you feel comfortable from the moment you walk in the office with him. He has a very soft and caring beside mannor. You can tell that he loves what he does. The love for his job just spills over to his patients. I would highly recommend Dr Fernandes. Although I am the 3rd family member to use him, I would recommend him to anyone asking about WLS. rnDr Fernandez is the best....He gets a 10.

It has definately been awhile since my last update. Where do I begin.
Well I did get my approval for my RNY in October. The surgery date was for Nov 14th. I was so excited and had been talking to my boss about taking the time off and getting ready. Well then on Oct 31st I was called into the office and was let go after 90 days. The excuse was I just wasnt the right person for the job. I was so upset I thought I had lost it all. My job, the pay check, and Most of all the Surgery. Well I started calling the Ins dept to see if I would still be covered. The answer NO. because of the way that the Ins is paid monthly. So I started getting information about the Cobra Ins. turns out I would still be able to get the Surgery. So since I was not working I rescheduled my surgery for Nov 8, 2006. That is the day that I got to sit along side of all my loser friends. So I went into the Hospital, had to be there at 6:30 am and surgery was scheduled for 9:00 am. Well I didnt get wheeled into the O.R until 11:30 am. Everything went great, I was only in for 45 minutes. I was doing so good that the Dr told me the next day I could go home. I was shocked. I figured I would be in for a couple of days.
But I am doing great.
I got thru the Holidays okay. I didnt have any parties to go to or dinnes so it was really easy to not be tempted. I am still following all my rules. I only have trouble eating meat. I can eat chicken salad or tuna salad without a problem, but my issues are with thick cuts of meats.
Well I got another job. And I have OH itis. It seems I cant stay away. Even at work on my lunch I get on to just see whats happenin.
Well this is it for now. Next time I will up date on my weightloss.

Gosh, I cant believe that Sept is almost over. I was telling my co-workers the other day that we only had 94 shopping days till christmas, they all booed me. I love the holidays. At least this year I have a job.
Well I gave my new Insurance Info to my surgeons office and they sent off a letter to my new Ins. on 9-11-06. Well it didnt take them long to deny me. The reason was they wanted 6 months of supervised weight loss with my primary dr. But little did they know I am having my 6 month visit with my dr on Monday the 25th. Yeah.
So yesterday I get a call from the review board, I was shocked. And she was telling me the things that I needed to qualify. I told her I had already had my visit with the Nutritionist and the psy.dr.
and I gave her a list of my medications. and also told her about the supervised diet. So Now when i go see my primary on Monday all I have to do is give her the letter and have her send a letter to Cigna and I will be on my way. Yeah.....Hopefully I will be on my way to wonderland by the end of the year. My DH told me last night that he thought that when i had the surgery and I got down in size I would be leaving him. But why would I give up 28 years of my life with someone who has been through all the ups and downs with me. Go Figure. I told him he was delousenial.(wrong spelling).
But I guess all the spouses go thru that, or at least that is what I read on the message boards.
Next Wed. night my dh and I are going to Virginia for a couple of days. He has a job interview with Walmart, He is a truck driver. So we may be moving. But I wont be going anywhere until I have surgery. Well I will close for now, But I will update on Monday after my dr visit. Hopefully I will have good news.

WELL I HAVE BEEN AT MY JOB FOR 1 MONTH NOW AND I REALLY LIKE IT. I STAY VERY BUSY, BUT I WILL DIFFENATELY BE GETTING THE JOB DISCRIPTION UP GRADED FOR THE PAY. TO MUCH WORK FOR LITTLE PAY. WELL MY DH AND I HAD OUR ANNIVERSAY AND THEN MY BIRTHDAY. WE WERE VISITING SOME FRIENDS AND THEY HAD A SURPRISE PARTY FOR ME. THEN MY DAUGHTERS FRIEND HAD HER BABY ON MY BIRTHDAY, AND SHE CALLS ME THE BABY'S ADOPTED GRANMA. I WAS VERY SURPRISED. BUT BY THE END OF THE NIGHT I GOT AN EMERGENCY PHONE CALL FROM MY NEPHEW THAT MY BROTHER IN LAW PASSED AWAY FROM A MASSIVE HEART ATTACK, HE WAS ONLY 56. I CANT IMAGINE WHAT MY SISTER IS GOING THRU, THEY HAD BEEN TOGETHER SINCE JR. HIGH SCHOOL.
I VISITED MY DR AGAIN THIS MONTH AND SHE WAS VERY UPSET WITH ME CAUSE I DID NOT LOOSE BUT I DID NOT GAIN EITHER. BUT MY NEW INSURANCE GOES INTO EFFECT SEPT 1ST SO I AM GOING TO TRY TO GET APPROVED AND HAVE MY SURGERY SOON. JUST WISH ME LUCK.
WENT TO THE CONFERENCE IN FT LAUDERDALE AND I HAD A GOOD TIME. I LEARNED ALOT. I EVEN GOT TO SEE MONICA GANS, I DIDNT MEET HER FACE TO FACE THO. I WISH I HAD. I AM KINDA SHY AROUND PEOPLE AT FIRST. BUT I CANT WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE IN FLA.
WELL GOTTA GO, BUT I WILL UPDATE SOON, HOPEFULLY WITH GOOD NEWS FROM MY NEW INS.

Write something about yourself here from before your WLS journey started such as why you wanted to do it, your motivations for making the change and the general things about yourself such as age, height, weight, starting BMI, etc.  You may also want to include things about your family in this section as well.

six_months2.jpg

In this section you can put down things that you've accomplished during your first six months as well as pictures of the changes you've experienced up until this point.

one_year2.jpg

Obviously here is the same as above only from the time reference of six months to one year after your WLS.

goal2.jpg

Goal pics as well as your ending BMI, weight, etc.  This section could also include pics of you after plastics if you like.

wow_moments2.jpg

This section is important because you will want to record your wow moments along the way.  They will help to keep you focused as well as give you encouragement when you may hit a stall or if you need a boost to your self esteem.  It is recommended that you also put down the dates that these wow moments happened as you will want to reflect on those times after you've reached your goal.
