Wow..how this site has changed since I first joined!!


I am an almost-six year post op of the RnY. I joined this site in 2002 and found great inspiration, encouragement, information, ideas and everything one needs to make the decision to have bariatric surgery.

Fast forward 5-6 years and the results are quite different than I imagined. Not because of the surgery, but because of my own lack to follow the rules and the refusal to admit that I had 'other' issues that led to being overweight in the first place.

The surgery still saved my life! I'm still lighter than when I started. But I have gained back, and unfortunately adapted to a different addiction. I'm coming back to this site - the site that was full of inspiration to me - to help me in the next phase of tackling addiction....whether food or alcohol.
