Just wanted to leave a few words of encouragement. I know other people can be very insensitive but do not let them get you down. It is now time to take care of yourself. Remember, you can do this! You must do this! You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I bet my fiance that I could get down to 150lbs by Thanksgiving. I have to lose 45lbs to get there. There is money involved. I am writing it in here to make a public declaration that I will do it!

Protein Powder
on March 3, 2009 7:27 am
went out shopping for protein powder last night. My first stop was GNC, they wanted me to buy a jug over $60. All men in the store, they ended up getting me to spend $9 on two samples of protien powder, but it was to increase mass in less reps.

I them went to vitamin shoppe. They said they had a lot of bariatric patients go there. They clerks were 2 females, 1 male. One of the females walked me through the store, gave me a couple of options. Had me try a powder in the store, Nector Cherrry (tasted like liquid jello at strenghth, will be ok watered down. I could smell the protein powder, but could not really taste it. The jug cost $35 for 36 shakes. The female also gave me 2 samples of other protein powders to try.

Also, I was very surprised. Vitamin Shoppe has a great return policy. If a customer purchases an item and hates it, they will give a full refund, with the redemption of the unused portion. ''

Also Kelloggs K2O water can be found at the grocery stores/Walmart, it only has 5 grams of protein, and 5 grams of fiber but tastes good.

on February 27, 2009 4:42 am
I went to the gym last night for 2 hours. On tuesday it was 1.5 hours. I did 40 min cardio and the rest weight training. I want to lose weight b/c I am at the spot in every other diet where I can't get past. The last time I weighted 215 I was in 8th grade. I really want to get to under 200. I hope it comes soon!

My Story

I grew up as a sheltered fat girl in a small community. In first grade I weighed 100lbs. In 6th grade I weighed 180. In 8th grade I weighed 220lbs. When I graduated from HS 235lbs. I lost weight in college playing Rugby was back up to 250 when I graduated. I now weigh 299lbs.

My goal is to get down to 235-240lbs by the time I have the surgery. All the literature says after surgery the patient will lose 75-80% of their excess weight. So if I am smaller before surgery; I will lose less weight, but I will get closer to my ideal weight.
