JC, I hope that your surgery went well, and everything works out for you. I had the surgery back on 9/10/07 and it was the best thing I have ever done for myself. I started out at 328 lbs, and am down to 278 in just a little under 3 months. I have never felt better! Welcome to the losers side. -Veronica

Monday is your day! Just remember you are on the journey of a lifetime. Try to enjoy every minute. It may sound weird now, but know that you are cared for and prayed for here, and all too soon this will be but a memory and you will be an inspiration to someone else. I am waiting for you on the losers' bench!

My surgery date is 12/3/07.  I am stressed out at work and worry I will not be "ready" for surgery by 12/3/07.  I have ordered all sorts of protein drinks to prepare.  I am going to the nutrition class for the third time. I have some IBS problems that takes all sorts of maneuvering and med's to calm down every other day. Worried about the med's I take now for high blood pressure, arthritis - where do I find out if they can be crushed or if the capsules can be opened?  I suppose calling my doctor's office might help there.  Just found out about my surgery date and have all kinds of stress at work - and I'm the boss with staff depending on me to fix things.  I need some peaceful respite before surgery and am afraid I won't be ready.  Any words of wisdom?  I've waited three years and gone through all of the tests and paid loads of cash for them twice over already (putting it off due to work) and have to pay cash for the surgery too (24,000 for RNY).  I will be going to support group in the next week or two - I think I need it. And my family is freaking me out because they are fearful.  My parents are in their late 80's and I don't want them to worry. Dad had heartattack last year and subsequent bypass.  Husband is home on worker's comp and is supportive, thank goodness, but I don't want him to worry either.  I can't be the only one that's ever been in this position. Help.
