Surgeon Testimonial

Hugh Houston
Dr. Houston is a very professional to the T kind of doctor; however my favorite part about him is that you find out he really cares about his patients. I had a unexpected complication after my surgery and Dr. Houston took care of me and made sure everything was ok. Thank you Doctor!

8 weeks Post-op and feeling great
on January 9, 2012 9:05 am

wow, I can't believe how great I feel, today marks two months since my surgery (and the complications that were very traumatic), but I feel amazing now..26lbs down and gone forever..already more energy...the only thing I need to do know is step up my exercise and find some new recipes because I'm tired of just chicken and salmon, and go to more support groups for my head hunger, which I don't give into all the time but it's there and I need it to be gone!!! Other than those few changes, I doing good with the help of my father God, which made this possible for me! I am so thankful and ready to be healthy for life!!!

on December 19, 2011 6:41 pm

Ok I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this, I have not had one spark of a sex drive since I've been home from the hospital..I know we have to allow for recovery but even when I try to get intimate now with my hubby, nothing no feeling for that at all..Gosh I hope this is just temporary!!!

And is 22 lb's enough weight gone in 5 weeks.??..I thought it would be more!!!

Thanks

Not what I had planned!!!!
on November 20, 2011 2:36 pm
Very very traumatic last few days..wow where to begin. Monday was the day of my surgery, I don't remember much of the recovery time except for not being able to breathe and being in lots of pain. I woke up the next day in ICU on a ventilator to find out that I had to have emergency open surgery just 6 hours after the lab. bypass. I had a gastric artery rupture but they didn't know until a few hours after the surgery, by then I had lost most of my blood from the internal bleeding and according to my husband looked like a grey pale dead person, he was so scared. I had to have a few pints of blood, and lots of fluid put back into me, my hand is still swollen from an IV that came out of the vein during all of this..they had to place IV port in my neck.

Well I have to be honest after all I've been through I do have some regrets now. I know that with each day it will get better, but now that I have the big incision it will be a longer recovery than I expected. I don't even know how to process all that has happened since I've been home from the hospital which was Friday..
