Surgeon Testimonial

Ralph Crum, M.D.
Dr Crum is WONDERFUL! He has a wonderful bedside manner and is cares about his patients. His staff was very helpful. He knows what he is doing and if you do what he says you will succeed! His aftercare program is mandatory and I am glad he enforces it. On a scale of 1-10 he is a 15.....

I had no control at all. I used food for celebration, when I was sad, mad, you name it.

Time for an update!
on June 2, 2008 1:15 pm
I am still going strong.  Weightloss has slowed way down.  Which after losing over 100 lbs I figured it would.  I am able to eat more at a time now so I am trying to watch that.  I get stuck in carb cylces.  I am also watching that.  I do find that if I eat in the morning, I am hungry all day long.  So good bad or indifferent I don't eat breakfast any more.  I am walking at least 2 miles each day.  I am also taking a B12 shot every other week.  That has helped more than anything.  I will get a new (current) pic soon.

Time for an update

Well I am feeling pretty good.  The weather has been nice so I have been walking outside and doing some gardening.  We did a vegtable garden with my mom two years ago before she passes away.  We started on one yesterday.  It is a lot of work, everyone had to take a break, but I didn't.  I remember 2 years ago I thought I was going to die when we planted the garden.  Not this time.  It felt great to be able to do the work and still not feel so tired that I couldn't go on.  I am down to a size 12 in some things.  I am still wearing a 14, but some shorts are a size 12.  I am losing a pound or two a week.  Not much else to tell........  Until next time!

I thought I would update my blog.  I am feeling great.  I have been working out 5-6 times a week and sometimes even 7 days a week.  I am down to a size 14.  I am closing in on 200...   YIPPEE!!!  I can't wait to be below 200....

I haven't updated this in about a month.  I have been working out 5 or 6 days a week.  I want to be below 200 so bad i can't stand it.  I went for a mamogram last week and I got a call today from the breast center telling me they found something on my left breast and that they need me to come back in this Wednesday for another mamogram, and sonogram and possible biopsy.  I wouldn't even really worry too much about it, but my grandmother on my dads side died of breast cancer 7 years ago and my mother lost her battle with breast cancer Sept 2006.  I would be lying if I said I wasn't a little scared.  I have not come this far in my fight for better health to give up though.  I am a fighter.  I just need to pray that everything is going to be ok.

I went shopping last weekend and I actually was able to fit into a 14 misses!  That is unreal!  I have not been that size since I was in middle school.  I was so excited.  I can't believe it.

I am 1/2 lb down since last week.  I am glad to have any weight loss it is just hard to go from 5 lbs a week to a half pound.  I am still happy.  I  can't wait to be below 200...  To have my first # start with a 1!  Wow I can't wait.  That is my next goal...  I am going to the gym 3-4 days a week.  I didn't go last week.  It is easy to find excuses not to go...  I could get right back in the cycle of weight gain if I am not careful.   I will not go back there....

My Story

I have been over weight my whole life.  August 6, 2007 I had gastric bypass.  It changed my life.  I guess I should say I actually have a life now.  I have more energy than I have had since I was a teen.  Anyone considering this should do it.  I wish I had done this years ago.  I am married with 3 children.  I lost my mother Sept  4, 2006.  That was a turning point for me.  She was only 60 yrs old.  I knew then that if I wanted to live to see my kids have kids I better do something.  I had my first grandchild Sept 4, 2007!   That is right 1 yr to the day that I lost my mom.  I believe it was my moms way of saying life goes on.  My profile pic is me holding Caden my grandson.  I can play with him and spoil him and enjoy him in ways  know I woudln't have been able to do at 336 lbs.  I have the life I always wanted but didn't know I could have!  To anyone looking into this find a good doctor and go for it.  I have NO regrets!
