Well, a year has passed and all is going well.. I actually will be having my yearly appt. late because of some other surgery I had on my 1 yr. surgiversary! Sort of odd, but I figured it was a good date for 07.. why not 08? Anyhow, all went well and I am recovering. My scale is keeping steady at 188lbs. For me to be "overweight" I still need to lose 20 lbs. Seems so discouraging, but I feel good at my weight and thats all that matters in my opinion. It is what it is!!!
Well, this week is the 1st time I have gained weight. i put on 4 lbs with-in a few weeks. I guess that's not horrible since I am 9months out. But wow.. hard to handle really. Well, I will be needing to concentrate more and hopefully that will be gone by my next visit to Dr. Pohl on Feb 14th.
HI, my name is Tammy. I had WLS on May 9,2007. My highest weight was 306 that I know of anyhow.
Once I was told I had a heart murmer...then High Blood pressure...then Diabetes. I figured it was finally time to come to terms with my weight issues. I have always had issues my whole life, in fact I found a Doctors letter for some metabolic testing I had at 14yo. I was 190lbs then. Imagine, I weigh the same now as I did at 14. It's sort of ironic, I'm 41 now.
So, once I got a grip, stopped eatting McDonalds and whatever other junky food I could find, I dropped almost 50lbs. I did all my testing and started the WLS process. I was about 255lbs at surgery.
People ask me all the time, if you lost 50.. why not do it yourself and keep going. I needed more tools... and I found the tool that has been helping me, WLS.
