One more week! I'm so nervous...

At my last pre-op consult they said if my A1C is not down to 7.5 I will need to go on the 12 week fast again before they can reschedule.  I went for labs and my A1C was 7.6.  I was so devastated!  But They decided that this is close enough to the goal so they wont postpone it again.  YAY!  

Eating and taking my meds on a very strict schedule has been the key.  I set alarms on my cell phone so I can take my meds and meals at exactly the same time every day.  It can be annoying, and people have trouble understanding but it is worth it!

I'm very  nervous and stressed out about having surgery but the surgeons office does not seem to think anything of that. So  I went to see my primary care doc and my fasting glucose was 196. Since my A1C does not reflect a reason for the high fasting glucose,  she determined that it is stress related and gave me something to calm my nerves.  I have stopped panicking and my husband noticed that I am much less irritable now.
