Surgeon Testimonial

Daryl A. Stewart, M.D.
I really like Dr Stewart and his staff. He is very knowledgable and makes you feel calmed and relax. Even though I was nervous about my surgery I knew I was in good hands.

Hi Tasha! How have you been doing since your surgery. I really could relate to everything that you wrote on you Profile. I have had a hard time walking after surgery, but I already had a hard time walking before I went into surgery (what with slipped disc, arthritis, neuropathy and plantar fascitis-which is a killer on the feet). What I am doing now is getting up frequently and walk for very short periods of time, many times a day. That is all I can do at present. I know with weight loss, I will gain strength over time. I pray that you are doing well, and by the way, I love the graphics on your site!! Lisa Trewitt

Well I haven't been on in awhile. Its been a crazy time in my life. I have gained alot of weight. I haven't weighed myself as of lately. But the last time I weighed I was at 305 lbs. And I know I am more since then. I don't know where to start to lose the weight. And I think its affecting my heart again. So I have to seriously find out what to do. My 4 year anniversary is in July. And I feel like a failure. I have been trying to get pregnant. I was on clomid for 4 or 5 rounds. And I didn't get pregnant that way.  So I was supposed to go in and do the IUI ( I think that what it was) I had started the clomid round and had called to schedule the procedure and the doctor's nurse told me he wasn't going to do it. He wants to send me to another docotor but he didn't tell me why. It broke my heart but I tried to stay positive and schedule the appt and was ready to go but my husband's job didn't let him off in time. So now I have to wait and reschedule again. I've just been down and frustrated. And it seems like I can't get ahead. If anyone has any advice on getting back on track I would greatly appreciate it. Hopefully I will get back to being happy again.

Well today I went for my 3 year check up with Dr Stewart. It had been awhile since I seen him. He has a new office and a beard. I was nervous about weighing in because I knew I had gained weight but I weighed less than I thought. When the scale said 271.5 I wanted to do a dance. I know some people think that isn't that great. But before I had the surgery I weighed 450 lbs. So I have lost a total of 178.5 lbs. I have went from wearing a size 8xl to a 2x (sometimes 1x). Im going to drop down to 250 because I know I can do it because I did it last year before I got pregnant. Last year was a bad year and this year hasn't been that great. But I'm going to make 2009 better year. I have a mild anemia and Dr Stewart said my calcium level was a little low so he gave me a prescription for Vitamin D to take weekly.  Well hopefully i will post more later. Good Luck to everyone

Well im still gaining weight. when I weighed myself this morning I was at 275. I guess Im letting the stress of life get to me. I have been eating more than usually and unhealthy at that. I go my yearly check up on the 21st. And I already know its not going to be good. Im going to ask my doc for  some suggestions.  I was going to try and put myself on  a strict diet and my body went crazy. I was getting flushed and sick. I need to exercise. I was riding my stationary bike and was doing good. But I slacked off because it needs batteries to operate and I haven't went to buy any yet. Well I guess that is all for now. Will blog more later.

Well since I last updated I have gained 20lbs. In April I had a myectomy. They were only able to remove a few fibroids or they would of had to give me a hysterectomy. My husband bought me a stationary bike. I have been trying to ride it for a mile every other day. Hopefully I will get back on track and lose the weight.

Well Happy New Year!!! I hadn't realized I hadn't osted anything since August. Since my last post my body seems to be back to normal. I have a cold that is about it. I haven't been back to see my surgeon in awhile because of scheduling conflict. Hopefully I will get to make it to my 3 year check  up. I have been babysitting my little cousin he  is 6 months old. He keeps me busy. My husband and I want to try again to have a child.  My husband did a buffalo wing eating contest and came in second on his team which was a good thing.  I am adding some new pics I have took like 2 months ago hopefully I will take more new pics soon.

My Story

When I first went to see Dr Stewart I weighed 448lbs. The day of my surgery I was down to 442lbs. I had surgery on July 13th, 2005. I was so nervous the night before I didn't sleep so on the day of my surgery I just passed out. That when they woke me up I told them I couldn't wake up because I needed the surgery. THe nurse told me it was okay that I had already had surgery. I'm not going to lie I was in pain after surgery. And you have to walk and that hurt. When I went home I couldn't sleep in the bed so my husband rented me a recliner to sleep in. Since Surgery I have had ups and downs. I now weigh 254lbs and working on losing more. My husband and I have decided to start a family. Before surgery walking was difficult. I now go bike riding every now and then. I am enjoying shopping for clothes. Before surgery I wore a size 46/48W or 7x. I now wear a size 22/24W or 2x. I am happy I had the surgery.
