Today is the day finally!! I leave in less then an hour for surgery!! I am soooo nervous!!

Well I got my first consultation date with the surgeon set up for May 23rd of next month. I am excited yet nervous at the same time. I have also set a quit date to stop smoking for May 31st. I have never tried to quit smoking before, so this is going to be a hard one for me but I can do it. I don't feel like I have my mother on board for support since she feels that I get all my services for free since I am on disability, I am trying to make her realize I OBVIOUSLY have health issues since I am on disability but she called my ailments drama, but I am not going to let her deter me from my success. I just wish she could be happy for me like she was for my sister when she had the lapband done.  

Well I went to my information seminar on weight loss surgery yesterday and turned in the packet to show that I was interested in the surgery. I chose the RNY. I am nervous about all of this. I still need to get my primary doctor on board, but I don't think that wil be too difficult, I am going to get in and see her next week and tell her how important this is to me and have her write up a referal. Right now I am 5'2 and weigh 266 with a bmi of 48. The only co-morbidity that I have is sleep apnea but I am at risk for so many other things. I do have fibromyalgia and I know that wls will not cure that but it sure will help take some of the weight off my joints and may help relieve some of the pain. I am in Spokane, WA. I am married to a wonderful man that supports everything I choose to do which is definitely helping me in making my decisions on becoming healthy.
