Surgeon Testimonial

Keith B. Boone M.D.
My first impression of him was good. He was fairly soft spoken and thorough. He didn't make us feel rushed and asked periodically if we had any questions. He did refer us to his office staff for the stuff that come next. I suppose that's to be expected. Surgery went very well but I haven't seen him since. His partner Dr. Higa is the one who released me and I've been seing his P.A. for all my post op visits but I like her. I was in the process of getting all my necessary evals and blood work done before my first consult with him and his office staff \"lost\" a lot of my paper work because I \"wasn't a patient yet\" A little frustrating but fortunately I had copies to re send. Also they gave me the 1 year post op blood work paper instead of the pre-op so I had to redo some of the tests and that had to come out of pocket because the insurance wouldn't pay twice. He is a very thorough surgeon and if I had to have this surgery again I would choose him again.

Kidney Stone Update
posted on 4/9/08 5:54 pm
First, thank you all for the support you have given me through this painful experience.

Now - the update. I went and had pictures taken yesterday and followed up with the Urologist today. The stone hasn't moved and since it is causing constant pain, we decided to go get it. He will go in with a scope, break it up and remove it. He will put in a stint that will stay for several days. How long will depend on "how beat up" my kidney is. I start on Anti-biotics tomorrow to make sure I don't develope an infection before, during or after the procedure.

I'm not so excited about having to have it removed but I am greatful that I won't have to wait on the edge of my seat indefinately, until it passes. Apparantly, due to its size, there was only about a 40% chance I was going to pass it on my own anyway.  Now, I'm waiting for the surgery cooridinator to contact me to schedule. The Dr. does intend to have me all healed up in time to go to Canada on the 23rd.

Thanks again for bein here!
