Adolfo Fernandez
My surgeon Adolfo Fernandez best known by his staff & patients as FUZZ is a wonderful man, surgeon, dr, etc. The first time I saw him was at a support group mtg I attended with a friend who had RNY by Fuzz, I thought gosh he looks really young but man he's good looking. Then when he talked & answered questions I realized how intelligent he was & that he really knew his stuff when it came to WLS. He has always been very nice when I've seen him. He came in the "holding" room before my surgery & talked a while to me, my momma, Ma & my bff Becca. Becca took a pic of me & him~gotta figure out how to get it downloaded so you all can see him too. His nurse Elizabeth is one of my favorite ppl that I've dealt with. She is sooooo sweet & just down to earth. Also, Jeff the psychologist & Amber the nutritionist are very good at what they do. The aftercare program they offer & how they make sure you understand what you have to do & need to do to succeed is awesome. They are all there & willing to help at any time. Everyone I've had to deal with~Fuzz, Elizabeth, Amber, Jeff, other hospital staff, EVERYBODY~has been great to me & I truly believe it was b/c of their care & concern for me that made my whole preop, surgery, hospital stay & now post op so easy for me to deal with. I can't say enough how great Fuzz & his staff are. I would recommend & do recommend him to anyone that has asked or may ask about a WLS surgeon

Next set of appts

Called first thing this past Monday morning to set up my appts with the nutritionist & psychologist~had to leave msgs for both. But on Tues I was able to set up the appts. I go see the Nutritionist (Amber) 3/10 & go see the psych (Jeff) 3/12. I'm on my way & so excited.

First Appt

Hey everybody. Had my first appt today at the surgeon's office. He wasn't there but I got to see the nurse, Elizabeth. I loved her, she was so nice. Now I have to call & set up my appts with the nutritionist & psychologist. My next appt with the surgeon is April 4th. Elizabeth asked did I have a date in mind once I was approved & I told her I was thinking about towards the end of July b/c of my kids school schedule & when they'd be going back to school & my going back to work. She said that sounds good to her. So now I reckon after my next 2 appts (nutritionist & psych) then hopefully I'll get approved quick & when I go back on April 4th we can set up my date.

Decision to make

Hey everybody. I went to my PAVE mtg to listen to all the good, bad & ugly from the nurse & dr. It was very interesting. I'm really excited & this is what I want to do. Next step is my first appt with Fuzz on 2/22 @ noon. Thanks for stopping by.

Dr appt today

Hey everybody. Hope everybody is doing great. I went for my appt with my family dr today to talk to him about me wanting to have GBS. He was very happy, encouraging & supportive. He even gave me his private fax # so that if there's anything Dr Fernandez may need from him/his office the req can be faxed straight to him. If there's test he needs/wants me to have done that can be faxed to this # & he'll coordinate all the test for me to help make the process as smooth as possible for me. I love him~luckily I don't have to see him much (knock on wood) because I don't stay very sick. Well, that's the update on me.

My father~n~law got put in a rehad ctr yesterday. When my husband went to see him today he was in great spirits, dressed & clean shaven. He said they got to sit & talk like they always have spent time doing so that made his heart feel good that even though there'll be changes they can still sit & talk like they've always done.

Letter in the mail

Got a letter today from the surgeon's office. I have my first appt with him on 2/22/08. I can't wait.

My Father-n-law is in good spirits the last few days. He is suppose to be moving from the hospital to a rehad ctr or a home in the next few days. It's going to be a big adjustment for the whole family but we'll get thru it.
