Surgeon Testimonial

Mark A. Shina, M.D.
I really like Dr. Shina, he is very straight forward. He makes his patients quit smoking if they smoke before surgery and it really is a true blessing. I would have no other surgeon do the wls on me besides him. He has a wonderful bedside manner, very compassionate, and always wants the best for his patients. When I called after hours Dr. Shina returned my call very quickly. His office staff is very professional and wonderful. They worked really hard to reschedule my surgery very quickly and as soon as possible. I wooould give his office staff an A+....I never ever had a problem with the staff. I would like to tell his future patients that he is very strick with his rules of before surgery and after surgery but it is for our own good. He is
very strict with his aftercare....I mean if your not going to do what he wants you to do, then why go thru the wls. He explain the risk of this surgery very plain and blunt. And I just praise him for it....Dr. Shina is an A++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ in my book....To me he is very knowledgeable of this surgery and he a wonderful surgeon. I just can't praise him enough. His surgical competence and bedside manner is just out of this world.. If you would ask me if I would let him do this again, I would definitely have to say yes. I would reccommend him in a heartbeat to anyone.

WELCOME TO MY WLS JOURNEY! I STARTED THIS PROCESS IN JANUARY OF '04, BUT AFTER LEARNING THAT I WAS A DIABETIC THRU DR. SHINA'S BLOODWORK, I DECIDED TO WAIT ON HAVING WLS TO SEE IF I COULD LOSE THE WEIGHT ON THE DIABETIC DIET AND WATCHING MY INTAKE ON FOOD. THEN AFTER NOT LOSING THE WEIGHT AFTER ONE YEAR, I HAVE DECIDED TO GO AHEAD WITH THE WLS. I CALLED AND MADE MY APPT. WITH MY PCP TO DISCUSS IT WITH HER, AND SHE WAS ALL FOR IT. SO I CALLED DR. SHINA'S OFFICE BACK AND MADE ME AN APPT. FOR A CONSULT FOR MARCH OF 2005. MY CONSULT IS SCHEDULED FOR APRIL 5, 2005. I AM SO EXCITED.
