The First 50!
on June 7, 2010 7:21 pm
I am so excited! I have lost the first 50 before I hit my first 50 years!!!  I had to go see my PCM to update my medical file and get a referral for my yearly mammogram and when I got on the scales, I had lost 50 pounds on the dot! My kids told me that they know I don't see the pounds that have gone, but they do. My "rear' is disappearing! LOL!!  Now, if the hips would just follow suit. I am so blessed by making the decision to have my RNY surgery!!! I feel so much better and my energy is astounding! I am now living life without such a struggle. I am loving life today!

I won't lie and say that everything has been easy...I hated all the protein drinks, powders, etc.  I get sick for no apparent reason other than I must be eating too fast from time to time. I still need to motivate on the exercise, but I will get there. I am so grateful for all the support of my family and friends. I love you all!

Tomorrow is 7 weeks post op!
on April 12, 2010 4:55 pm
Hello! It has been a fast 7 weeks. I am more energetic every day! Some days are so much better than the day before! I am no longer on my blood pressure medicine, in fact, yesterday my blood pressure was 101/73! I am amazed at how easily this reversed itself. My "impaired blood sugar" is no longer symptomatic as well. I am SO happy that I had this surgery. I was waivering back at the end of the year, would I miss out on opportunities because of my pending surgery, but I simply choose what is best for me and all has worked out. I didn't realize how much my taste buds would be affected by the surgery, but at about 4.5 - 5 weeks out, they started coming back to normal. The protein shakes and ANYTHING else sort of sweet tasting made me super queasy, so I avoided all of those foods. I have just started liking the taste of most food that has all the required protein, which is great, since I need it to help increase my activity and keep the energy level up. I go back to the doctor on Thursday and will see how I am doing...
