My name is Sonya, and I have two children...A son who is 18 & a daughter who is 17.  I am a single parent who has struggled with weight issues most of my life.  I have thought about WLS alot over the last couple of years, and finally got the nerve up to talk to my PCP.  I see a few dr's, as I have some medical issues...Type II Diabetes, Multiple Sclerosis, Small fiber neuropothy, degenerative disc disease....You get the picture.  The only dr of mine that is against this is my endocrinologist (takes care of my diabetes).  He thinks that it will not do much for my diabetes...I strongly disagree with him.  I beleive it will benefit me in so many ways.

I am making this commitment because I want to live as long as I can for my kids...and myself.  My husband passed away in 2003, at 35 years old ( due to diabetes..He raised my children from when they were about 2 & 3 years old).....5 months later my childrens real father died in a horrific car accident.  I do not want my kids to loose me too!!

I really need to take back control of my life!
