1-30-2007  Today I recieved a phone call from Dr. Ver Steeg's office that they had recived a letter from my insurance company and I was MEDICALLY APPROVED!!! I couldn't believe it!  So we got the ball rolling on all the test I needed to get done before my surgery.


1-31-2007  Today I recieved a phone call from Wellmark BlueCross Blueshield telling me that I have been approved for the surgery and if I had any questions that I am to call them. I also recieved my letter of approval in the mail so it really makes it real!  It also says that I am schedualed for February 22 @ 8:00 am. I am very excited yet very scared.


2-6-2007 Went to Dr. Ver Steeg's today had my picture takin' talked about what all will be happening to me. Went over sooooo much!


2-8-2007 today was a very buisy day! I had my gallbaldder ultra sound, a chest x-ray, blood work, met with anesthesia personal, and a dietician. I thought my day wouldn't ever end.

2-18-2007  Today I finished up the shopping that needed to be done before I go in. I find myself very cranky-I am not so sure if it is because I am getting scared or if I am very overwhelmed by how fast this is happening. But I can't wait to have a much better /healthier lifestyle.


2-24-07 Well I am home now and there is hardly any pain. Everything went well, very glad to be home in my own bed. I am drinking my shakes even though they are soooo sweet tasting. 

3-29-07 I am doing very well, I am down 33 pounds and feeling great. I am back to doing home daycare, That is my daily work-out there.(hee hee) No I am just kidding. I am walking and doing Curves. 

4-6-07 I went to see Dr. Ver Steeg today, I have lost 39 pounds to their scale but 41 to mine, I will go by mine. I have been feeling very well. I have way more energy than before. I do have trouble with all meats, so I guess I will just become a vegitarian. I do eat alot of veggies and fresh fruits. Oh and also my protien shakes. 

7/12/07 Well today I had a check up with Dr. Ver  Steeg, All is going very well. I have lost 81 lbs. and feeling great.

I am a 36 year old who has been fighting her weight for a very long time. I wasn't heavy in high school, but as soon as I graduated the weight sure packed on!! Now I am facing the reallity of not being able to do the things with my children that I want to or they want me to. I have the best husband in the world, we have been married for 3 years, we have 5 children between the 2 of us, we wouldn't change a thing. I am very amazed that a man like him could be in love with me!! I am a lucky woman to have his support. I have alot of friends that have had the Gastric Bypass surgery and they all say they wish they had had it sooner. They all also have been there for me helping me make this lifestyle change/challenge. One change/challenge I am looking forward to winning! My children  have alot of questions and concerns but I reasure them that everything will be okay. My family is very prepared to lead more healthy lifestyle in support of me.
