Surgeon Testimonial

Charles Cook, M.D.
He was very profesional looks very young but is a very skilled surgeon. He does about 100 surgeries a year all with great sucess.I asked him if he has ever done anyone my size which is 745 lbs. and not to long ago he preformed the surgery on a 750 lbs. man all went well. He went over the procedure with me step by step was very clear on the risks and covered everything I needed to know.I met his assistant,he was very pleasant and made me feel comfortable right away. Also I met his nurse she was very nice answered a few questions for me. I am looking forward to this surgery and Dr. Cook I feel comfortable with and I trust him to do the very best he can.

Down 450 pounds...

I'm 10 days away from my 3 year anniversary of having my RNY, Its been a great journey for me and I cant believe my life now. There is actually a whole new life I never ever dreamed about. I use to dream all the time cause I couldn't leave my home so dreaming took the actual place of living outside my home but I swear living life is a hell of alot better then just dreaming. I started out 3 years ago weighing 745 pounds BMI of 95.7 and now I weigh 295 pounds BMI of 36.9 thats still amazes me losing 450 pounds and 50 BMI Points. Anyone that is thinking about having surgery and your sitting there scared and not living life, I would say go for it you cant even imagine the fun I am having now. I am flying out to California for the 2004 Obesityhelp National Convention on October 28th. to meet all the members from the website, going to have a blast at the Halloween party, I'm excited cant wait till it gets here! Last week I rescued 2 baby kittens from the side of the highway they were laying next to their dead momma so I brought them home and their names are Ying and Yang. Here is a picture I took on October 3rd. 2004. I will be writing again soon, Take care and God Bless.

Hi Kirk,
I just wanted to say what an inspiration you are to us all here at OH. I am from CT and I saw your story, I was so very impressed with all you have accomplished and how you have done with WLS.

Your my hero. I hope to have the opportunity some day to meet you and let you know in person how much we all look up to you and respect you.

You are a wonderful person for taking in those poor baby kittens. The poor mommy cat must have gone through hell. Some (I can't think of a bad enough adjective) person probably dropped them off. This breaks my heart. I had 11 cats that were dropped off little by little in my driveway because I lived on a farm and people knew I would take them in. Thanks for being such a great person. The world needs more people like you.
