Surgeon Testimonial

Kevin Krause, M.D.
What was your first impression of him/her? rnDr. Krause is very clean cut and professional. He is very knowledgeable about what he does and had an answer for every question that I had. rnrnHow did your impression change over time? rnI still feel that Dr. Krause was my best choice for this procedure. rnrnHow would you describe his/her office staff?rnHis office staff was amazing and very helpful in getting me approved for surgery! Sue was fantastic!!!rnrnWhat did you like least about him/her? rnEverything about Dr. Krause was great!rnrnWhat should future patients know about him/her? rnHe's very skilled and concerned about his patients. He's also very busy! This seems to make his time availability and time to spend with patients a little short.rnrnHow much does he/she emphasize aftercare? rnMy 10 day follow up was very brief. I waited 2 hours for my appointment, and saw him for two minuets, and was instructed to come back in three months. rnrnDoes he/she have a structured aftercare program? rnMost of my aftercare is with the Beaumont Weight Control Center. rnrnHow did he/she address the risks of surgery? rnHe has a matter-of-fact tone to all information that he presents. rnrnHow would you rate him/her overall? rnExcellent!!!rnrnWhich is better, surgical competence, bedside manner, or are both great?rnBoth were very strong qualities!rn

Amanda's Mental GERD
A mini blog of my RNY journey

It's never too late.
posted on 1/22/10 9:55 pm
Several years ago I made a New Years Resolution. My resolution was to be a size 16 by the end of the year. The end of the year came and I was still not in that size 16. I was crestfallen, but life went on. When I began this journey I was in a size 24 pants. 24 pushing 26 to be honest.

Today I went to ICHQ. I went there wearing a pair of low rise size 16 jeans. It's my first weight related accomplishment in 2010. It may be 3 years to late, but I've finally achieved that goal.

Humility aside, I'm proud of myself.
