Surgeon Testimonial

Andrew Aldridge M.D., F.A.C.S.
I like Dr. Aldridge. He's very personable, knowledgable and sincere. He explains things well and he truely seems to care about people.

He did a wonderful job on my VSG, so far I am very happy with the results and the aftercare is top-notch.

I don't have anything negative to say about him or his staff.

One Day At a Time...
on November 24, 2007 8:38 am

It’s been about 12 days since surgery.  I'm feeling o.k. but I don’t have any energy.  I’m not eating as much as I am supposed to. I get so bored with food now, that’s probably why I don’t have energy.

Pain levels are way down and the pain I experience after swallowing is not so intense but I still have it.  I seem to get a little better each day.  Now if I can just find some energy!

Home Sweet Home
on November 20, 2007 6:31 pm

We got home yesterday, the 90 mile trip was not so bad.  After 10 days away it is good to be home.

I’ve been re-reading the folder I got on post-op eating and I’ve been misinterpreting the amount of food I’m supposed to eat.  I find it hard to eat what I thought was the right amount but, it turns out, I should be eating about 20% more.  That may be hard to do just yet.

I went back to work today for a few hours and was complemented twice on my weight loss.  It was really shocking both times.  Since July I’ve lost 35 lbs. but I didn’t think anybody would notice yet so it threw me.

Over all I think I’m feeling pretty good.

Second guessing
on November 17, 2007 5:04 pm

I’m sure that my feelings will change in time but right now I am really second guessing my decision to have WLS.  I can only eat about 20% of what I’m supposed to, I have no energy and a tremendous amount of pain.  I have been walking a little, but not as much as prescribed, I just don’t have the energy.  It has to get better soon…right?

I spoke with Dr. Aldridge yesterday about the pain after swallowing, he felt that it was normal. We also talked about overeating but I definately don't have that problem.

4th day out
on November 16, 2007 5:34 am

Since yesterday this has been my hardest time so far.  I have a tremendous amount of stomach pain after swallowing which I will talk to Dr. Aldridge about today.  I hope I don’t have a stricture.

Yesterday, after leaving Dr. Langsdorf’s office I got sick in the truck on the way back to the hotel.  I have had some nausea but that’s the first time I actually got sick…and I think I made up for the times that I didn’t get sick after feeling nauseous.

I'm glad that I am continuing counseling with Dr. Langsdorf.  I really feel that I need it, and so does he.  I want to be successful but I know I can’t do it on my own.  If I could have I would have.  This is the right time, the right place, the right doctor and the right way to go about it.  I am confident!

drinking is the worst
on November 15, 2007 7:31 am
I get a lot of pain in my stomach after drinking even the smallest sip of anything.  That pain has not subsided at all and I'm a little nervous about it.

I don't have any nausea to speak of, thank goodness, I suppose the site where the drainage tube was is the most painful area right now, other than after drinking.

I was advised to not to sleep in one postion too long so I've been getting up every two hours of so and moving to a chair or the couch etc.  It helps a lot!

All in all I think I'm doing quite well.
