Surgeon Testimonial

Andrew Averbach
I met Dr. Averbach at one of his seminars at St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore and I immediately thought he was the one. I then scheduled a consultation in his office a few days later. His office staff was wonderful and very helpful and organized. His office has a very structured pre and post surgery program to include nutritional guidelines, psychiatric evaluation and support group attendance recommendations. After meeting with him, I felt more at ease about risks and and anticipated complications. I am confident he has the surgcial competence to perform this surgery on me.

Countdown to Surgery- 5 days
posted on 5/19/08 2:33 am

5 days and counting .........................getting really nervous worried about all kinds of stuff.   I did not have to be on a liquid diet I am winding down starting today as far as what I am eating.  I will start on liquids, jello, pudding, etc today then tomorrow I will transition to clear liquids and continue till Friday. I have a slow digestive system so in order to get the best benefit after the surgery is to have at least 5 days of no food.   A few of my major concerns is to develop a bowel obstruction or the conversion to open surgery once they are in due to scar tissue from my previous surgery.  I know alot of people on the forum have done really well however, most are alot younger than I am, my age even though I am not that old at 52 is againist me.  Well, I will write as the week moves on.
