Surgeon Testimonial

Theodore M. Khalili, M.D.
This man is fantastic but the best thing about him is that not only do you get an extremely, extremely competent surgeon but you get his amazingly supportive staff. They consistently anticipated every question I had and answered it about 10 minutes before it occurred to me to ask it.rnrnHis bed side manner can be a little brusque, but his knowledge and skill can't be questioned.

First Update
on December 30, 2008 12:45 am
Well, I'll go more in depth in the future, I suppose.  For now, a quick update on my progress.

I started taking my weight loss seriously in January, 2008 when I was 6'3" and 530 lbs.  Between my own efforts, joining the Cedar Sinai assisted weight loss program and finally getting my RNY surgery in early November, I've lost a total of 110 lbs this year, including about 40 pounds since the surgery about 7 weeks ago.

The surgery, I'm happy to say, has been very kind to me.  I rarely get pain when eating, only a few foods have been problematic and usually only when I overcook them and dry them out.  Excercise has gotten a lot easier, and I can do my 35 minutes of cardio 5 times a week without feeling like I'm going to die.  I'm even seeing a personal trainer twice a week, though I feel it may be necessary to murder him in a back alley if he continues being perky at me first thing in the morning.
