Surgeon Testimonial

Adam Smith, D.O., F.A.C.O.S
I met with Dr. Smith on 2/7/07. He was very nice and laid back. He went through everything with me and he felt I would be a great candidate for surgery. He let me feel the port under his skin to see what it is like. He was extremely professional. He is very big on aftercare and overall change of life habits. rnrnI can't say enough about Dr. Smith. Since he is a Lap-band patient himself, he truly understands what we are going through. Susee, his nurse, is a lap-band patient as well as is always there to assist the patients.rnrnDr. Smith is well respected in the medical community and I felt 100% confident with him providing my surgery. He is very educated on the lap-band surgery and has great bedside manner.rnrnI had some issue with getting fills in the beginning. Availability was hard! They have worked on the fill issues. They have another doctor now and it is easy to get in for a fill within a few days.rnrnI highly recommend Dr. Smith and I would do it again in a heart beat. They have commended me along the way and held me accountable. I could have never done it without Dr. Smith and Susee cheering me on!rn

Going Well
on June 25, 2007 5:23 pm
I still just take things one day at a time. People are starting to say wow you look thinner and I just don't see it. My hubby says I am the smallest  he has ever seen me and that is still hard to believe.

I have so much weight to loose, I think I just don't let myself get excited about the weight lost. I guess I am afraid of getting excited about the weight I have lost and loosing track.

I have to say I am a numbers person. I do like to see that scale go down! When the scale doesn't cooperate, I start to second guess myself and wondering what I am doing to jinx myself!

I am just amazed that I have lost almost 50 pounds. I think the best feeling is there is no yo-yo dieting. All of us lost 20 pounds and then gain 30 and loose 20 and etc. This has been steady.

Life is good
on June 17, 2007 6:09 pm
I am learning what I can eat since my last fill. It was a little of an adjustment because i had so much restriction.

I have been working out every night and that is making me feel better.  Today I had a two hour Thi Massage. It is so different now with 46 pounds down how different it feels to stretch and etc.

Struggling
on June 12, 2007 5:54 pm
I have to admit I am a little shocked and how hard it is to keep things down since my last fill. With the 2.5 cc in my band I am struggling and not sure what is going on.

I can drink, it is just amazing how most every thing gets stuck. You would have thought that I would have dropped 10 pounds in the last week since the fill but nope just 2.2. I am working out and just trying to take it slow and find foods I can eat.

I am just four pounds from achieving my first goal of 50 pounds. It will be 14 weeks since surgery this Thursday so I think I am doing pretty good.

Just staying strong!
