Surgeon Testimonial

Adam Smith, D.O., F.A.C.O.S
I met with Dr. Smith on 2/7/07. He was very nice and laid back. He went through everything with me and he felt I would be a great candidate for surgery. He let me feel the port under his skin to see what it is like. He was extremely professional. He is very big on aftercare and overall change of life habits. rnrnI can't say enough about Dr. Smith. Since he is a Lap-band patient himself, he truly understands what we are going through. Susee, his nurse, is a lap-band patient as well as is always there to assist the patients.rnrnDr. Smith is well respected in the medical community and I felt 100% confident with him providing my surgery. He is very educated on the lap-band surgery and has great bedside manner.rnrnI had some issue with getting fills in the beginning. Availability was hard! They have worked on the fill issues. They have another doctor now and it is easy to get in for a fill within a few days.rnrnI highly recommend Dr. Smith and I would do it again in a heart beat. They have commended me along the way and held me accountable. I could have never done it without Dr. Smith and Susee cheering me on!rn

March Not A Good Month for Loss
on March 25, 2008 6:36 am

I have to say that March has not been a good month for weight loss. I look back at my weights and realize I am staying about the same. I really need to get my butt in gear! When I look at my February stats, I lost 9.6 pounds so that is about right what the doctor wanted. So, that means I have the rest of March (not very long) to get my butt in gear.

I had company and we went hiking and to the zoo. Can you believe I gained four pounds? With all that walking and exercise I thought for sure I would see the weight come off but no I gained weight. It was frustrating.

I am starting to think that I need to reevaluate the food I am eating. Maybe I have fooled myself into thinking I am eating properly? Maybe I am not getting in enough protein and fluids. I don't know but I don't like this stall!!

I want to have a baby so bad. I am 41 pounds away from trying and I just want to see it come quicker than later. I guess I need to get exercise ramped up! I can't wait until the water in our pool is warm enough for exercise. I did go out every day last summer. It felt WONDERFUL on my body! Of course I was much heavier then!

97.5 Lost
on March 19, 2008 6:02 am
Well, I inched a little closer to the 100 pound mark...97.5 pounds lost.

I am going to get there if it is the last thing I do!

96.1 DOWN - BAND ANNIVERSARY
on March 10, 2008 11:01 am
Ok, most of you know I wanted to be 100 pounds at my band anniversary; however, I hit 96.1. My surgeron was EXTREMELY proud of me. I have gone from a 5X to a 2X top. In pants I am down from a 34/36W to a 26W. I have gone down in EVERYTHING!

It is much easier to just get around. I am able to walk without feeling so tired and exhausted. I am able to hike now which I would have NEVER thought about doing.

I am proud of what I have accomplished and just need to continue on my path!
