Surgeon Testimonial

Adam Smith, D.O., F.A.C.O.S
I met with Dr. Smith on 2/7/07. He was very nice and laid back. He went through everything with me and he felt I would be a great candidate for surgery. He let me feel the port under his skin to see what it is like. He was extremely professional. He is very big on aftercare and overall change of life habits. rnrnI can't say enough about Dr. Smith. Since he is a Lap-band patient himself, he truly understands what we are going through. Susee, his nurse, is a lap-band patient as well as is always there to assist the patients.rnrnDr. Smith is well respected in the medical community and I felt 100% confident with him providing my surgery. He is very educated on the lap-band surgery and has great bedside manner.rnrnI had some issue with getting fills in the beginning. Availability was hard! They have worked on the fill issues. They have another doctor now and it is easy to get in for a fill within a few days.rnrnI highly recommend Dr. Smith and I would do it again in a heart beat. They have commended me along the way and held me accountable. I could have never done it without Dr. Smith and Susee cheering me on!rn

Update-IUI Round 2
on March 18, 2009 8:06 am
I had my ultrasound to check and see how things are going. I am on CD10. Well, I have four follicles. Two are close to maturity (18 & 17). The other two they are not sure will mature (15 & 12). So, I have one more injection tonight to see if they can get the 15 to bump up a bit. Tomorrow night I do the trigger shot and Saturday morning is the IUI.

It is kind of strange to ovulate so early when I ovulate monthly on CD18. I guess when you are on injections, it speeds things up!

So, we will see what the future holds.

2nd Round IUI
on March 11, 2009 10:52 am
Here we go Round 2 for IUI! Today was my CD3 ultrasound. Both ovaries looked great and uterus was great. I have my instructions and starting it all tomorrow....wow!

CD4 - 100MG tablet Clomid
CD5 - 100MG tablet Clomid
CD6 - 100MG tablet Clomid & HMG 75 IU injections 9pm
CD7 - 100MG tablet Clomid & HMG 75 IU injections 9pm
CD8 - 100MG tablet Clomid & HMG 75 IU injections 9pm
CD9 - HMG 75 IU injections 9pm
CD10 - Go in for Ultrasound to see how things progressing. Then, determine if keep doing HMG injections or if I need to do the Estradiol trigger shot at that time. I ovulate late normally so I have a feeling it will be continue injections.

So, here I go again :)

First IUI Cycle - NEGATIVE
on March 9, 2009 4:50 pm
Well, I had my first round of IUI this cycle. This morning was the blood pregnancy test. I would get the results in the afternoon...well loving AF reared her head in the afternoon so I already figured it out. Plus, I had POAS yesterday to try and deal with the possibility of a no so I wouldn't be shocked when they told me it was a no.

I was on 100mg of clomid for CD5-CD9. Then, I did Ovidrel trigger shot. Then, prometrium for 2DPO through today.

I go in Wednesday for ultrasound and all the medications for the next cycle. The nurse today said the RE will call me tomorrow about the process for this next cycle. She said that it will consist of injections along with some other medications.

So. off I go into another month of TTC. It is frustrating!!!!!
