Surgeon Testimonial

Adam Smith, D.O., F.A.C.O.S
I met with Dr. Smith on 2/7/07. He was very nice and laid back. He went through everything with me and he felt I would be a great candidate for surgery. He let me feel the port under his skin to see what it is like. He was extremely professional. He is very big on aftercare and overall change of life habits. rnrnI can't say enough about Dr. Smith. Since he is a Lap-band patient himself, he truly understands what we are going through. Susee, his nurse, is a lap-band patient as well as is always there to assist the patients.rnrnDr. Smith is well respected in the medical community and I felt 100% confident with him providing my surgery. He is very educated on the lap-band surgery and has great bedside manner.rnrnI had some issue with getting fills in the beginning. Availability was hard! They have worked on the fill issues. They have another doctor now and it is easy to get in for a fill within a few days.rnrnI highly recommend Dr. Smith and I would do it again in a heart beat. They have commended me along the way and held me accountable. I could have never done it without Dr. Smith and Susee cheering me on!rn

IUI #3
on April 15, 2009 7:19 am
Ok, well I am close to IUI #3. Today was the final day of monitoring and here is the breakdown:

Right Ovary: 16.09, 15.96, 14.04
Left Ovary: 16.59, 14.23, 9.23

So, we have three close to maturity. They are going to call me today after talking with the doctor. They don't want to do IUI on Saturday because then that would make five mature follicles and would increase chance of multiples. So, they are trying to decide whether to trigger tonight with IUI on Friday morning or trigger tomorrow morning with IUI Friday afternoon. That way I would only have three mature follicles. So, I will know more this afternoon.

I had three follicles last month and didn't get pregnant so I am trying not to get my hopes up. This is the third try at IUI so hoping this will do the trick.

Anyway, just wanted to update those who want to know and who follow my story :)

Have a wonderful day,

IUI #2 Negative
on April 3, 2009 1:24 pm
Well, IUI #2 turned out a BFN. So, I am frustrated and a little sad. I spoke with the RE on the phone and he said he recommends a third round of IUI. He said chances decrease on the third round of IUI. Well, if chances decrease...why do another round, makes no sense.

It is emotionally draining TTC to begin with. Then, add the expense of IUI and injections and it just ends up being frustrating. I guess hubby and I will do another round of IUI and then see what our options are.

I feel like I will never get to be a Mom.
