Just had my 2 week post op check up with my wondeful surgeon Dr. Tobin Schnedier today. Had my staples removed and got my first weigh in. I'm down 30lbs - Yahoo!!! Had a hard time finding clothes to fit me today everything was too big- poor me - haha!! Now I'm moving onto stage 3 foods - can't wait to actually chew my food. Never thought I'd actually look forward to cottage cheese... Wow, what a great change in my lifestyle. I get a little depressed from time to time, but when I do I remind myself that food and lack of self-control got me where I am today, and self control will get me back to where I want to be. I'm off all diabetes and blood pressure medicines, in fact my bs was 116 last night - never been that low in years even with the medicine! I feel wonderful, and so blessed to have had such skilled surgeon, never once had any pain at all. Yeah, I'm a looser now and proud of it!

Jim sailed through his surgery like a champ last Wednesday and I got him safely back home on Saturday. He is doing very well, although he was a little depressed on Sunday, but I think that was due to coming off all of the medicines he had been given in the hospital. He is tolerating the stage 2 diet well and is eagerly looking forward to stage 3! Thanks to everyone who posted their good well wishes, they meant more to Jim than you will ever know. Good luck and a speedy recovery to all of you still awaiting your surgery.
