Life...
on September 18, 2010 6:09 am
As of tomorrow I am six months out of surgery... Really... Six months already?? Although I have been stuck at the same weight now for almost a month, I know it will start moving again soon... But six months... I am just amazed with my progress... I look at old pictures, and I do not even recgonize the person looking back at me.... I am so much happier now, and I feel so accomplished already.... I know this surgery has changed my life for the better, and I am so happy with my decision to have the surgery... I hope everyone is doing well. I have not been on the website for a while, but I think I need to start back here on a regular basis.... What do I do to get the scale moving again????

Here is a comparison photo I made... and all I can say is WOW-- really... That was me???

Question... IMPORTANT!!!
on September 1, 2010 3:39 am
I am in English this semester at school, and its research paper time! Lucky for me, one of the topics was Bariatric Surgery!!! Obviously I have choosen to do that topic, given the circumstances! My question for anyone on OB help willing to help me out is I have to include a survery and interview with this research paper. If you are willing to help, can you please comment me, or email me at tierra_012683 @ yahoo.com and Ill email you the survey and interview for you to fill out and send back to me? I would appreciate any help. If i get no replies, I might just post it, and hope someone does it. I need about 10 people for each to fill it out, and the same 10 people can fill out both if they have time! Again any help would be appreciated!

My Story

I am 27 years old... I have been over weight since around 9 years old... Of course growing up I did the fad diets, I did the starvation diets, I did everything I thought I should have done.... Finally after going through some tough things this last year, I decided it was time to get the move on it, and admitted I needed help.. My family doctor tried to get me to do this surgery when I was 18 years old, and I would not do it.... Now almost 10 years later, BRING IT ON! :-) I am ready for my life to change... I am 5'3, 297 pounds.... I swore I would never hit 300, and I am so close, but I will NOT hit 300! My surgery is March 19th-- so in two weeks my life is changing forever!

I am from Indiana and I am having my surgery at St. Vincent Bariatric Center in Carmel Indiana. IF there is anyone that is having their surgery there, or just for that fact anywhere. I would love to be able to talk to more people one on one about their experiences!
