Home...
on March 30, 2010 7:20 am
I am finally home! I got out of the hospital for the second time on Sunday the 28th! My second stay was longer than my original stay! I have to make sure I push the fluids... I was so dehydrated and not able to eat because of dehydration... I think I finally have this down! I am still NOT getting 64 oz in a day but i am getting around 40-50 which is much more than before!  Before I was only getting in 5-10 ounces! I have also found a protein shake I like, so that is working for me so far.. Its actually to sweet... So i will see..... I have lost 15 lbs since surgery! Almost at the 20 mark! Crazy how fast it does fall off!

Hospital...
on March 25, 2010 10:01 pm
So I am writing this from the hospital... I was told o go see my surgeon through short stay at St. Vincent yesterday (03/25/2010), and he ended up admitting me. So i was admitted for dehydration and checking for a stricture/closure. I am actually typing this from my hospital room.. I feel better because of all the fluids there pumping in me, but how am I supposed to EVER get to where I need to be wth fluids and protein! Ugh... I can not stomach the protein drinks.... Have yet to find one that I like... Ill def keep trying though..... I have to.. I will be successful with this surgery!!!!!

Home...
on March 21, 2010 5:55 pm
So I was discharged today, and I am home sweet home. I am still in a lot of pain, and have a nausea patch behind my ear. They say its good for three days, so ill have to remove it tomorrow. My left side is killing me. If i sit in one position for to long and try to stand, i can not stand up straight... As for eating, I am only eating about 1 oz-- for dinner I had 1 oz unsweetned applesauce... Since yesterday the scale says i have lost 2 lbs, which is great, but i know it could also be the gas they put in me finally making its way out! I do hope I made the right decision. I am calling my surgeon tomorrow to see what he thinks about anti depressants. I know where I had my surgery, they said generally a patient is sent home with them. Considering I am supposed to be on them, i think it would be a good idea right now... Another thing i am worried about it, I am still craving things like Taco Bell, Mcdonalds, Hardees.. All those places I used to eat before.. IS this normal? How long before these damn cravings go away!!?? Other than that, I am feeing pretty good.... just taking it one day at a time right now...

Considered POST OP as of 03/19/2010
on March 20, 2010 6:41 pm
So I am now considered post op... That was very fast! I had my surgery at 8:30 am on March 19th. My surgery was done at St Vincenet Carmel Bariatric Center of Excellence, my Dr. John Huse...  I can honestly say it went great, and just as I expected... I had it done laproscopy, so therefore i have many little incisions on my belly and not just one huge incision. I have been in alot of pain. At first they had me on Dilaudid (supposed ot be stronger tham Morphine), then they switched me to iquid loratab, and then on top of that they are giving me Torridol. I am still in the hospital as I write this.... I am getting so drowsy, since that is all i have done since Friday is sleep... They wake me up to walk, and potty and i am right back out. I know it will get better, but wow the first  few days have been super rough! I know it will get better... TO all o you getting ready to have surgery-- you will not regret it no matter how horrible you feel after surgery. I felt ike I had been hit by a bus and then ran over by a train, but still I would NOT change it for the world... Some people feel perfectly fine after surgery, and some people do not. I unfortunetly am the type that does not feel perfect. I have bruises up my arms, where the IV's kept giving out, and they would have to do it again, after about an hour-- that would give out as well. Finally they put one in the top of my hand, and its been there for almost 24 hours! Go me! Well i am very drowsy, just wanted to write and let everyone know I had my surgery!!!!! I am ready for this new change!!!
