3 Appointments In 1 day
on May 17, 2008 10:34 am
Well, yesterday I went to the Hospital for my Chest-Xrays, Ultrasound, EKG, Lung Capacity check and Lab work.  After that I went to the Physiologist and after that 2 hours appointment, I met with my WL Dr.  He told me my EGD was fine.. I have a slight hernia.. but not too worry, and the best news.. NO CANCER..he took 2 biopsies.

It was a very long day.. but now closer to the surgery on 6-26th

Before I left the WL DR.. I asked what could I do to prepare for surgery.. (I still have under 6 weeks)-- He told me:

1.) cut my meals in half
2.) don't eat after 7pm  (but for me.. probably 5pm.. since I go to be at 7:30 sometimes.. since I get up at 3am)
3.) No dairy..
4.) Stay away from sugar (sweets) and white flour
5.) drink the water

The funny think about that is.... I know that ... FROM ALL THE PAST DIETS.. I was on before... hahahahaha.... I should be telling him.. what I need to do.. hahaha

I was just hoping it would be something different.. I never heard of.

This Dr also requires 2weeks prior to surgery to be on a liquid diet.  So that is a little scary.. but.. I am so looking forward to finding the person.. I know that is in here.. hidden by extra weight.

Had My EGD (upper GI)
on May 3, 2008 12:00 pm
Well, I had my EGD yesteday, and I was scared to do that, but it wasn't as bad as I thought.  They did take 2 biopsies.  For the esophagus and stomach.  I should find out the results May 16th, that is also the next date for 3 of my appointments.  So, it is moving fast.

Newbie

April 30th 2008
From reading many blogs, I realized I am a newbie, or could it be a "want-a- be."  I have my surgery date on June 26th, and I am starting to feel the fear.  What helps me is my mom has done this and is doing well.  So if anyone wants to give me tips on how to prepare that would be great.  I have heard to stop the soda pop, so I am 6 days with out pop.  I am trying to eat slower, but that is a challenge.  I also am trying to stay away from sweets, but not there yet either.  I am going better, but all of the stories I have read has really been great.

My Story

My name is Mashelle Kloppel, and friends call me "Missi".  I turned "40" last July.  I have struggled with my wieght since Jr High.  But is was only 15 -25lbs, until after having twins.  I had twin girls in July 1991, and since.. my wieght went higher and higher.  I have exercised, gone to a Nutristionist, Weight Watchers, the gym... You name it.. each time it didn't work.. "FAILURE".. AND I don't know about alot of you, but I don't understand how family members that don't have the struggle can be cruel.  My step mother looked at a photo of me at SeaWorld next to a Walrus... and had the nerve to ask.. which one was the walrus.  Talk about a "ripping of the heart".  I don't think people realize the words they say... do not leave.  Once I started looking into the surgery... it went from.. "why can't you lose the weight?"... too...."you are healthy" why would you do that????  So... I have a lot of sadness on how some people have treated me.

I have been married 19 years.. it will be 20 this Sept. and I can say my husband has not been harsh.  He made a few comments about wanting me to be healthy.  I have a son that is 23 years old, and he is in the Air Force.  He guards Air Force I.  He is such a great son, and than the twin girls.. who have now become "young ladies"

Life goes so fast, it is hard to believe the kids will all be out next year.  So that is why I have wrote.. " It is time for me too be happy".  I gave so much to everyone.. I lost who I was, or who I wanted to be.
