WLS risks are explained clearly.rnrn9. They get a 10 from me. I don't know very much about my INS and they take the time to help.rnrn10. Both surgical competence and bedside manner are great!!!

I thought I had more of my WLS story here online. I want to get online eventually and write it down, well what I remember because it's been awhile and I'm starting to forget.
Today I had 3cc of saline taken out. I was to tight. I was having a hard time with solid foods from morning until about half way thru the day and nights were getting uncomfortable.
I have a new DR because my husband and I have moved. I go thru Portsmouth Navy Medical Hospital and this DR was very nice. I was alittle disappointed to hear I was getting 3cc taken out of my AP (14 cc band) but I was happy to get rid of the tightness. I get an upper GI done next week and then a follow up next month.
I've gained weight this last yr. I was having trouble in the beginning of last yr copping with type 2 diabetes. I was getting hypoglycemic everyday. I was told to get more carbs. I gained 15lbs almost immediately and put on some here and there since. I'll figure out how to get back on track.
me @ 255 lbs.
I had just started to look into WLS info.
Alittle about myself...
I'm almost 29 yrs old. Married/ no children. We do however have 2 wonderful pets. A little tuxedo kitty we call Mama's (Lucy is her name). And a little Shih tzu doggie named Sumo. They are my little buddies.
We travel alot because he is Currently in the U.S. Army. We like to see different places.
I've been overweight most my life. I've always been heavier then my age group but my weight really took off around 15 or so. I just can't wait to feel healthier again. I have all kinds of Co-morbidies...will be nice to tie my shoes without feeling like i'll pass out.
I'm still new to this site. I'll have it figured out soon i suppose. I would like to have a place to keep a journal. Guess i'll start here.
Tomorrow i get to call and make my first appointment with the wls center and get the ball rolling. I guess i am at their mercy and the mercy of my INS. company. My hubby also wants to attend the meetings with me to understand the procedure.
I'm just up all nite again thinking of the possibilites and looking through profiles for clues.
thats all 4 now i suppose.
I didn't get up early enuff to call the wls center today. I sleep alot...(depression). I did get a call from them though, they got a fax from the dr. telling them i'm interested. I'll set the alarm tomorrow and get my butt out of bed to call. I have my night and days turned around again. So if there is anything during the day that i need to accomplish i have 2 struggle to get out of bed. *sigh*. i'm also getting help with sleep.
Ok, so i finally call the wls center and i missed them. I'm suppose 2 call between 7-11 am. WHAT ?!? those are the hours i'm the most dead to the world. OK-ok-ok. That just means i have 2 get my rear end up out of bed weather it will kill me or not.
i woke up @ 1pm today and it took me nearly half an hour to wake up and be mobile enuff to call them. man. i'm not a morning person at all. But going to bed @ 6 am doesn't help either. I have one more sleeping pill left....i'll take that tonite and try again. They are awesome, they help me wake up faster when i do wake up. but i can't live on them, nor would i want to.
ok, i talked to the lady i needed to talk 2 at the wls center. I have an appointment for Valentines day to get the testing started. She will mail me a packet to fill out. hope that i have all my current medical records at my new primary care takers office. If not they are in another state and i have 2 figure out how 2 get them to the right people. I can't wait to do a sleep study. I haven't been officially diagnosed with sleep apnea. But i wake my self up with a shake some nites. and i swear i catch myself un-consiously not breathing when i shake awake. I know something ain't right anyhow and can't wait 4 the results. I love getting tested at the hospital. I like to stay ontop of what might/is wrong. It's not fun by no means. I just like the peace of mind that i know whats going on with my body.
Made an appointment with the surgeon for Feb. 22. I have all my testing done feb. 14. I hope. I might have 2 schedule some more after that, i'm not sure. I have been reading the book -Weightloss Surgery for Dummies. OF course i read plenty on the net and keep my eye out for other sources. I'm still learning.
I had some blood work and my ekg today. Scheduled my sleep test and digestive specialist test and upper GI. man, they poke and praud every inch of me -eh?!? well that's the best i suppose so i'm not complaining. I am looking forward to attending my surgeons seminar and support groups. The lady at the Weightloss Center here is very helpful and personable. *score* Takes some of the edge off this paperwork journey. Well today is Valentines day and i'm gonna make my hubby is favorite dinner......and eat it with him while i still can. We are pushing for a surgery date tward the end of March. -unreal how this is unfolding...i'm reading every bit of material i can get my hands on.
I've had afew more tests done since i last wrote here. Umm. did my sleep test the night before last. SUCKED 4 me. yeah. couldn't sleep. hopefully they got some info from the whole thing. Got a call from my case worker, she said they filed the info with the ins. guess i just have 2 wait.
it's been over a yr. and since i've moved and started my wls testing all over again for a new doctor. all except the sleep tests- thank goodness. I have a checklist of tests done and over with and my next meeting i hope to get a wls date...if not then maybe i need to do a liquid diet. i hear that the doctor makes some people do one and others he doesn't. i feel pretty good that i have a chance of just getting a date. but i'm up for the liquid diet also, i mean nothing about wls is easy i'm sure so now it's time to face facts and get busy with getting healthy
