Update on me!
on June 17, 2011 6:39 am
Well It has been a long time since I have communicated anything on this site so I thought I would today. I was reading another persons decision making thoughts on the Ontario site and feeling for her. I was in that boat and came to the decision not to have the surgery. I think for the most part that it was the right decision and I have lost about 55lbs on my own. I don't think I will ever be as low in weight as I could have been if I had the surgery. But I would like to get at least below 200lbs.
I still do have regrets about not doing it, what if???
I am fallowing a low carb diet very like Atkin's. Keep up the good work Tracey!!!!

Desicions
on December 16, 2010 8:40 am

Well I have come to the decision to not have the surgery. I have been loosing weight on me own close to 50lbs at this point. There was too much doubt in my mind about it. I think at this time it is not something I want to pursue. Too much of a life changing thing to do and no going back after it is done.  If I change my mind I can start the process again. I think this is the best thing for me. I still like coming onto the site to see how everyone is doing and it helps to motivate me. That is okay isn't it? Every once in a while I will Blog about how I am doing. All the best to everyone out there.

Checking in!
on September 23, 2010 7:21 am
I went back to Windsor on Monday to see the social worker and am doing the home work assigned.  It's difficult to remember back to all the previous diets you have been on and write down the needed info.   But I will do my best!  Not much more to say at present.  I am just going through the steps needed on my journey to a healthier me.

Things are finally happening!
on August 19, 2010 8:23 am
I have been to the clinic in Windsor and seen the dietitian, nurse, and the Dr. on the 13th of August.  They had some interesting things to say.  I am now starting to go through all the tests that are required. I am still vacillating from having the surgery and not.  From what the Dr. said it would be a good thing to have done. It will be interesting to see what my blood sugars were like.  I had a glucose tolerance test.  Time will tell.

Sleep study and orientation class.
on July 21, 2010 1:24 pm
I went for a fallow up with the sleep study Dr.  I have sever sleep apnea and have been set up with a c-pap. It will be interesting how much different I will feel after getting use to it.
Also on the 16Th I went for the orientation class at Met hospital in Windsor.  Mike was able to come with me so he got the info on what the surgery entails.  I have been describing what will happen but I think this class really opened his eyes as to what will happen.
We are still plugging away on Atkins.  I have now lost 25lbs and am feeling good.
As far as the OR goes I am continuing on with the appointments as they come and will decide as I go.  They said that from the orientation class It would be 4-6 months until the OR.
