Monday is your day!
Just remember you
are on the journey
of a lifetime. Try
to enjoy every
minute. It may sound
weird now, but know
that you are cared
for and prayed for
here, and all too
soon this will be
but a memory and you
will be an
inspiration to
someone else. I am
waiting for you on
the losers' bench
I am a severly morbid obese 30 year old women. I started this journey to WLS a little to late. I have BCBS and they require a year of medically supervised diet before they will approve the surgery. After meeting with my dietician at HCMC, she said we will try after six months since I am a very ideal canidate for surgery. So begins my pre-op diet. Three meals a day of any size or calorie count, no snacks and no liquids with more than 10 calories per serving. I am very lucky in the fact that HCMC does not require their patients to lose weight before surgery.
Amen - BCBS changed their policy to require on six months of visits. I was approved for surgery on 11/21/2007. Surgery is scheduled for Monday, December 17 at 7:30 a.m.
As I near 150lbs lost, I still can't beleive it. I am 16lbs away from the lowest weight in my adult life. I can walk without being out of breath, my back killing me or my feet falling asleep. Life is so much better without that 2nd adult hanging on to my every step!
I totally can't believe that I have lost this much weight. I would have never been able to do it without the staff at HCMC and the support of my friends and family. Holy hannah! I still can't believe how far I have come. It just seems so surreal!
Well, amazingly enough, I have been walking during lunch at work and 1-2 miles a day. That was unheard of six months ago and this is a major accomplishment for me. I have two walking buddies at work and they keep me motivated to go every day. Well at least so far. It is so nice outside it is hard not to enjoy it!
Well, I am still only eating about a 1/4 of a cup after my last fill. With the stress levels around here it isn't a surprise. I think that I am finally starting to loosen up so that I can start to eat a bit more.
People are starting to notice the weight loss and that has been fun. I am finally starting to see it myself which is even better. I have a hint (just a hint) of a waist again.
