I had my second fill a few weeks ago and I am down 55lbs, I am feel great, expect for a little problem, keeping any solid down. ( Do anyone have any advice) I am scheduled to Dr. Miles next week if I can make it. My feel is only 1-1/2cc.
Greeting this journey is a mile stone for me, because I said several years ago that I would never have such a surgery. Now today I am having to eat those words like I have done everything else. The reason I said this is because I felt it was the easy way out and to be a successful loser you have to work at it. Gaining weight don't just come overnight and we can't except to lose it overnight. Well, over the past 7 years my weight had over taken me since, I was the only one known in my family to be the smallest, now I am the largest since, my sibiling and mother has had the surgery. When I started gaining this weight, I started serveral diets costing me more then this surgery in it self. I been on Weight Watchers, Different Diet Pills and Shots and Colon Cleaners to lose these pounds. Nothing kept them off. So, I had to get serious, my health start felling me, I have been so sick in the last several years that when I would go to the doctors, the first thing the Doctor would tell me is to lose weight. So one day eat a bag of chip and drink a couple of cokes I seen the commerical about the Lap Band and I said maybe I check the internet about that and see if that will work for me. See my biggest shame was letting folks know that I was over 230lb so, I never mention surgery around my family, not even my husband until I learned about the procedure and then I shared the web site with my husband and we talked about it and prayed to God. The words I told God if it's possible you would allow everything to be in place for me and he did. I had to make the first step and that was making time to go to the seminar in Birmingham (over 100 miles from my hometown) God made that possilbe. My husband enjoyed the seminar and Dr. Miles took time out to make sure I understood everything that night before I left Birmingham back home. At the seminar was the only time you could get an appointment, so I got an appiontment for January - Well, I couldn't make my first appiontment because my husband job transfer him home to Montgomery (Thank you Jesus) and they gave me appointment for 2 weeks later that was even better. I contact evey doctor I had went to and they told me that I need to lose weight and asked for a letter of recommendation and they all did. See how God work I need that time to get those letter to Birmingham , before I did. I had seen a Cardiologist for a work up, I had a Sleep Study, , Psychological Evaluation and my Internal Medicine and had just had Hernia Repair done in November. When I arrived to Dr. Miles office I was ready for surgery that day because it was all in God's Will for me to have this Life Changing Journey to a better a life. After that appointment the Insurance Clerk told me that my case shouldn't be a big deal because I had everything in order, I got my letter from Blue Cross/Blue Shield Federal in less than 2 week tell me I am in compliances. Thank you Jesus for Favor once again. See this Joy I have no one can take it away..... My surgery is scheduled for April 2, 2007
