My Story

Hello my name is Tomekia, my friends call me Meka, I'm a mother of four beautiful children that are all grown now but one. I have three step-kids that I love like my own. I have four dogs; 1 yorkie & 3 yorkie-poos. I'm married to my husband for eight years we have been together for 11 years. I have not been big all my life, in high school I weighed 125 pounds and I was very comfortable in my skin. After I had my first child I lost most of my weight and the same after the second. But after the birth of my third child things just seem to go down hill with my health. I lost a lot of weight really fast and my eyes appeared to pop and I felt tired all the time. Long story short I was told I was Hi-per thyroid, after radiation treatment for it I became Hi-po thyroid and I started to gain weight. My highest weight was 258 pounds and I felt miserable, after getting my thyroid under control I now have to deal with this issue of weight. I've tried every diet there is and exercise, I would lose but never able to keep it off!  Now that all my kids are grown and out the house except my baby which is 16, I feel like it's my time. Time for me to put myself first and take control of my life. My husband is in the Army and we go a lot of places I always feel like he is ashamed of being with me, (Not that he is) I just want to feel good again, I want to be able to walk up and down stairs and run in the park with my grandbaby. I wanna be able to ride a bike, or run in the park with my husband. I wanted the sleeve but my insurance tri-care don't cover it, but they do cover the by-pass and the lap-band. So I'm trying to decided which one I'm going to have.... I'm scared of the lap-band and as for the bypass I can live with it but I don't like dumping..... I have vertigo and I hate to be sick. well this is my story.
