Surgeon Testimonial

Thomas R Brown
Surgery complete & out of hospital! Dr Brown was very calming to talk to. He even made me smile while I was laying in the pre-op holding area. The anesthiaologist was super nice. Since it was my first surgery ever, he explained alot of things to me. He also put these little stickers behind my ears for nausia. I'm super glad that I picked Dr. Brown for my WLS.
My 3 hour consult with the staff went smoothly. Alot of the questions between the psych eval and nutritionist were duplicated. However, can't complain. I liked getting alot of the appointments done in one building. The receptionist in Dr. Browns office seemed to be new. She kind of acted like she didn't know what she was doing.

14 months down 94 lbs
on October 19, 2010 6:56 am
well, I went to my 1 year check up finally with Dr Brown. All vitamin levels are normal except B1 is very high. ? I got a referral to a plastic surgeon for a tummy tuck. I'm thinking next fall. I'm still considered "obese" my BMI is 33. I weigh 166. If I can get to 155 then I will just be "over weight" and then tummy tuck with take 10 lbs off so then I will be 145. My "ideal" weight for being 5 feet tall is 115 lbs which will NEVER happen and I'm ok with that. I've been walking again but now I can go alot further. He gave me a pill to coat my stomach and it prevents ulcers. I'm to take it 1/2 hour before meals. He gave it to me so that I can take something during my periods for the headaches so that I can take excedrin/midol/pamprin because the neurologist couldn't fix the headaches and i went soooo many times.

almost a year
on August 15, 2010 6:16 pm
I am between a size 14 & 16 in pants/shorts. and I wear an XL in shirts. I have hit the goodwill several times. take things in and come home with new! I am discouraged because I've only lost 88 lbs. In 2 weeks will be my one year date. :( I thought I would be at 100 lbs lost by then and it makes me soooo sad. I just travel soooo much and its difficult for me to get to excersize. I have been put on anti-depressants since I lost my job last month and I go to see a counselor along with my family for court stuff that is going on too. My hair has quit falling out excessively which is good and I don't feel so self conscious going out in public. I wonder what my blood work will say when I go for my appt next month to the surgeon.?

6/7 month dr check up
on March 22, 2010 9:14 pm
Well, I'm vit D3 deficient and B12 is borderline deficient. now I'm taking drops of D3 and a sublingual B12 in addition to the normal other vitamins. I've lost 68 lbs. I'm down 12 BMI. The dr said I should be about 10 lbs further along and 2 more BMI to be considered "average". It's so frustrating. I know I should be excersizing more and sometimes make better food choices but come on........In the last month I've lost 3 lbs  I do make sacrafices. I knowingly choose things I can tolerate eating over things I would really like to eat. I'm wondering if I could handle an appetite supressant? I guess I need to quit the Starbucks once a week. I am so sick of the snow and it taking me an hour to get home. I am trying to be thankful that I even have a job but I am so worn out and don't want to do any type of excersize when I get home. I guess that is the only thing left that I have to do to loose weight again is excersize. Why me? Why do I have to be the one to be the slow looser?
