Surgeon Testimonial

Christopher Hart, M.D.
My first impression of Dr. Hart was he was very nice. He seem confident what he knew what he was doing. I like the fact that you get an appointment to see him for your consultation. Instead of having to go to a group seminar and then having to call to make an appointment. At your first consulation you have a small group that he does a short information session for then you see him individually. I've only seen him once so my impression hasn't changed yet....lol His office staff has always been wonderful especially Mildred. She has been great this whole time. When we went into our group seminar there was just 3 of us in there he advised of the risks associated with each surgery. I haven't had surgery yet so once I have surgery I will come back to update.

Not much going on my weight loss have slowed down considerably.  This morning I weigh 179...this is for a total loss of 138 lbs for far.  I'm currently 19 lbs away from goal which feels great to say that.  I feel wonderful and have more energy than I ever have.  My husband and I are trying to have a baby now.  But, I guess it will just take time.  Even though I want it now.  Thats all I have to update about.  Everyone at my work keeps asking me if I've had any complications or anything....and the answer is NO.  I've not had any issues with anything.  This has been the easiest surgery for me.  I can't believe it's been over a year already.  Time flys when your having fun.

As of yesterday I'm down 131 lbs since surgery.  I'm wearing size 12 pants.  Which I thought I would never see.  I'm only 26 lbs from goal.  That's pretty much all the update on me.  I will be a year out on April 17.  I started out at 317 lbs and as of yesterday I was 186 lbs.

Well its been a very long time since I have given any updates.  As of this morning I am down to 192.  So that's a loss of 125 lbs since April 17.  Not to bad.  I have 32 pounds til I get to my goal and doctors goal of 160.  My BMI has went down from 61 to 36.3.  My waist has gone down from 52" to 34".  I feel great but know I will need to have some excess skin removed already.  I can see extra skin on my arms, tummy and lower section (thighs and butt).  But, its not that bad. I have to say this has been the best thing I could have done for myself.  I started this journey wearing 24/26.  And today I'm sitting in a pair of GAP size 14 jeans.  I was never able to purchase GAP jeans before.  They didn't go up that high.  Eveyone I talk to says I look like a whole new person.  At a christmas party this year my uncle didn't even recognize me.  My husband likes the weight loss.  The only bad thing that has happened since my surgery is my monthly cycles are crazy.  They are coming 2 and sometimes 3 times a month.  I've been on several forms of birth control with no relieve.  Its really wearing me down.  I will try to post some updated pictures today.

Well its been a while since I updated on here.  There's really not much to say.  I'm down about 85 lbs in 5 months which is good.  Of course I was hoping for more.  But 85 lbs in 5 months isn't too shabby.  The only problem I am having with my surgery is now that I've had it I can't find any birth control that works right and regulates my monthly cycles.  I've tried the nuvaring and now on Femcon which is a chewable birth control pill.  I'm still having 2 periods a month.  Which is getting a little aggravating since prior to my surgery I had to take provera just to have 1 once a year.  But my ob/gyn said give this Femcon one more month and if I'm still having the same problems to let her know and we will try something else.  So I hope we can get something that will work and only give me 1 period a month.  I didn't even realize I haven't posted pictures since I was 2 months out.  So I will get some new pictures posted soon.  I go back to Dr. Hart and see Rachel the nutritionist in October for my 6  month follow up.  I can't believe its already been 6 months.  I started at 317 and as of this morning I'm at 234 which I'm on my monthly so I figure if I wasn't on it I would be back to my 232 from a few days ago.  The weight loss has really slowed down.  But from what I've heard its pretty common for it to start slowing down around 5 and 6 months out.  But I'm still very happy with the loss I've had so far.  Anyways, thats all for now.  I'll post new pictures soon.

My Story

I am 29 years old.  I have a wonderful husband who has stood by me through thick and now thicker!  He's a good man and he loves me for who I am not how I look of course he says I'm beautiful the way I am ! THANK GOD for his bad eyesight...lol!! My husband I have been together for over 5  years.

When we got together in Jan. 2002 I weighed 250. Which was a lot of my 5'1'' frame but I had been told that no one would have guessed I was that heavy.  And to be honest with you I didn't feel that heavy.  I never had health problems or anything like that.  My weight the first year we were together got down to 215 at my lowest. I am now at my all time highest of flucuating between 305-319. When we got first together I was vibrant, loved life, loved to try to new things and was fun to be around.  I'd walk for miles on the beach with him and never complain.  I just felt good.  Now I am depressed, and I am not fun to be around and if I walk for 10 or 15 mins my lower back starts hurting so bad.  I have been looking into gastric bypass for about the past year since my weight has really gotten out of hand.  I now have high blood pressure, high cholestrol, PCOS, infertility, along with the low back and knee pain.  My husband and I were wanting to have kids but at the weight I am now the dr said that it just wasn't a possibilty and since I have PCOS it makes it seem impossible to lose weight without some type of medical intervention.
