1 month post op
on April 17, 2009 9:34 pm

I posted new pics in the same outfit so as time goes on I can really see a good comparison. I'm 345 which means i'm down 43 lbs total. 26 down since surgery. I'm going back to work a week from Monday and I feel really good. Unfortunately I got a 24 hr stomach bug from my Mom so I am a little sore in the belly and definately not able to trust any gaseous emmisions. I know yuck but hey it's the nature of the beast.

Surgery is over and I'm alive and well
on April 1, 2009 5:36 pm
Surgery went well. I stayed 2 nights came home with good meds but only used them for a few days. I am already having to limit the amount of diabeties meds I take because my sugar is bottoming out. I did get a little dehydrated a couple of days after I got home. I was medicated and not feeling real great so I slept alot and didn't drink much at all. I got all cry baby and pitiful but once we figured it out I just worked harder to get my fluids in.

2 wks post op Surgeon Follow up
on April 1, 2009 4:53 pm
Well today was my 2 wk post op follow up with Dr. Weaver. I got my staples out :) yeah! It stung just a little but no big deal.

I think I got my weight confused from the LS diet. Here's what I figured out. I began at 388 in Feb at my PCP. I lost down to 368 during the 2 wk diet but on my morning of surgery I weighed in at 371 so I had to back off my 20 lbs pre op weight loss and refigure it and it should be 17 lbs.

Sooo now at 358 I've lost 13 since surgery and 17 prior to surgery for a grand total of 30 lbs even. Not to shabby

Doc says I can transition to regular food no more need to puree so thats good.

My Story

I've hesitated on beginning my page because Its been what seems like such a long process. Today is the first day of my liver shrink diet and I'm all approved and I've jumped through all the insurance hoops. I initially began seeking weight loss surgery several years ago but left the job I was at therefore losing the insurance I had that covered the surgery. I have insurance now that covers it so I've begun again. In July 08 I began the weigh in process (3 months), had the necessary diagnostic tests done and was quickly approved in Sept. Unfortunately my Dr. changed her status and had to be recredentialed and the insurance took so long to process her new status that she was booked through the end of the year for surgery. Weeellll the beginning of the year started a new insurance with my job so the old approval became void and I had to satisfy the new insurance criteria. I was sooo disappointed but I strongly believe Jesus works everything out to the good of them that love Him. Here I am March 2 starting my shrink diet for a March 17th surgery date.
