Surgeon Testimonial

My first impression was that Dr Kim was not very personable.

My impression is still the same, except that he is a great Dr and i am so glad that things happened the way they did and i ended up with him as my surgeon.

His staff is great, very personable.

What i liked least about Dr Kim was the fact that when i asked a question he was very short with answers as if he didnt have time to answer them.

Dr Kim is very knowledgeable and i felt/feel very comfortable with him as my surgeon. He is a very dedicated Dr who is truely involved with his patients.

Dr Kim has monthly support group meetings. He has been at everyone i have been to and that shows me that he has a vested interest in his patients.

The risks of surgery were gone over many times, by Dr Kim as well as his staff.

I haven't had alot of surgery procedures done in the past to compare him to, but i would trust him everytime to operate on me. He removed my Gall Bladder only 6 days before my Gastric Bypass Surgery. I came through both very well.

I believe that the bedside manner is ok, but the surgical competence is most important.

My Story

Hi! My name is Kellie. I am 39 years old and have been overweight since about the age of six. In October of 2005 i went to the doctor for my anual check up and the regular scale could not weigh me, i was at my highest weight at 375. I made the descision right then that i had to do something. I was/am fortunate enough not to have problems with high blood pressure, diabetes, or high cholesterol. I did/do have sleep apnea, knee problems and of course problems fitting places. I began the process in January of 2006 and finally had my Roux N Y Gastric Bypass on October 31, 2006, after having my Gall Bladder out 6 days prior to that. I came through both surgerys with very little pain, and not many problems. I am in the middle of February 2007 and i am 3 lbs away from losing 100 so far. I lost 55 of that prior to my surgery and 42 since my surgery. This is something that is so unbeliveable to me. I look at pictures of myself now and still cant believe that its me. If anyone were to ever ask me would i do it all over again if given the chance..................ABSOLUTELY!!!!
