THANKS DR. SMITH FOR GIVING ME MY LIFE BACK!

I am happy to report that my hair has finally stopped coming out.  From about 3 months post-op until about 7 months post-op I lost tons of hair. I started out with very thick and pretty hair ... so there really wasn't a lot of damage done.  Folks didn't even notice but I definitely could because everytime I showered my hands were full of hair.  I bought Nioxin shampoo and conditioner for thin hair and it really helped.

For those of you  losing your hair... know that it will stop just as quickly as it started.  I did end up getting my hair cut in a bob which I absolutely love!  It's shorter than in my avator picture.

I weighed today and weighed in at 130 pounds.  So... only one more pound and I will have made it to Dr. Smith's goal of 129.  I will be 8 months post-op on May 11th... sooooo not doing too bad!  I started out 210 pounds for those of you wondering.

I am so happy that I had WLS!  I am wearing a loose fitting size 4 and SMALL tops!  I can't remember the last time I've worn a small top.  I know it's been many years though.  I am loving life and everything it has to offer!

For those of you who have hit bumps in the road... just hang in there.  You'll be so happy you did!

Hugs and wishing you the best during your weightloss journey!

Judy

P.S.  I'll post new pictures soon!

It's been a month or so since I have posted so just wanted to let everyone know I'm doing well.  As of today, I am down a total of 73 pounds.  Not bad for 6 months post-op.  I am actually wearing a size 4 and they fit comfortably.  Size 6's are a tad baggy now!  Heck, my shoe size has even shrunk.  I used to wear a size 7 1/2 and now wear a 6 1/2.  I've had to get my wedding ring sized already and can't wear it... because it needs to get sized AGAIN.  Pretty soon... there won't be any gold left. Smile.

I had my blood work done by my family practice doctor and the results came back great!  No problems or anything.  HOWEVER, I still continue to lose my hair.  I'm not sure what the problem can be is all of my bloodwork is NORMAL?  Does anyone have a clue?

Well,  that's really about it for now... just wanted to write and let everyone know things are going great for me.  WLS is the best!  I have my life back and have the "attitude" to go with it.  Big smile!

Don't hesitate to email me if you have questions!  I'll be happy to help ya if I can!

Hugs,

Judy

Hello All!
on February 11, 2008 2:18 pm
Wel, it's February 11, 2008 and things are going along pretty good.  I'm down quite a few pound now and wearing a size 4/6 clothing.  I'm pretty happy to say the least but my hair is fallling out!  I am scared to death to even get highlights as I've always done as I don't want to add chemicals to make things worse!  Everyone tells me it will slow down but to date... the hair loss is still there.

Life is soooo good!
on December 8, 2007 5:15 pm

Sorry I haven't posted in a while but I've been busy with work, etc.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm down 44 pounds in 12 weeks (on the 11th).  I'm very happy with the weightloss so far!  Having WLS is the best decision I've ever made for myself!  I'm so happy with my life and have the most positive attitude and self esteem EVER!

I'm wearing a size 8/10 now.  The size 10's are loose and the size 8's fit great!  Yeah me!  I still need to lose more to get to my "ideal" weight for my height but I don't think it will be much longer.  I'm hoping I will be at "goal" by March 5th... which is my birthday.  It would be a great birthday present, huh?

I am happy to announce I'm off of most of my meds that I've been on for quite a few years.  It's great to not have to take pills all day long!  :)

Well, I'll write again soon... just wanted to let you know I'm doing great and am loving life!

Hugs,

Judy

After Thanksgiving!
on November 24, 2007 1:47 pm
It's a couple of days after Thanksgiving and am excited that I did pretty well with all of the food around.  I really enjoyed being with family this time rather than worrying about what I was going to eat.  This was probably the best Thanksgiving "get together" that I've had in many years.

I am down a total of 39 pounds in 10 1/2 weeks.  I probably could have done better had I exercised a bit more.  I will be kicking it into gear when I lose a tad more though.  I promise!

Oh yeah... my size 10 pants are loose on me.  Yeah!!!

Not much more to report....

Hugs,

Judy
